Porch Progress {Week 7}

*womp womp*

No progress to report on the porch.  Zip. Zilch. Nada.  I know, I know, good things come to those who wait, and I have no doubt that it’ll blow my skirt up when done.  Trouble is, waiting comes hard for this admitted instant gratification gal.

So… for this week’s edition of Porch Progress, I thought I’d show you the throw pillows Mother helped me put together last weekend.  We made new covers for the pillows we used to keep out there on the old deck – there are two of each. They are in the Premier Prints Zig Zag fabric in the Village Blue color way (not an outdoor fabric, but these will be fully covered.)  I cut the “W” out of burlap and used Heat n Bond to adhere them to the fabric.  Mother stitched around them to complete the applique.  I think they are a darling complement to the chairs I shared last week!

Now, y’all seriously need to cross your fingers and toes that some major progress happens this week.  Else you’ll probably find me out there acting all kinds of crazy.
xoxo

  1. Thank goodness! I just love that your porch is happening on a real life timeline. Who are these people who completely renovate their kitchens in like 6 and a half minutes? Your pillows are beautiful and the monogram is so fresh looking. They'll look great on your porch when it gets all finished!

  2. Love the pillows! It will look so great when it is all done, and it's fun to follow along as it progresses. We just redid our master bath and it took forever! So hard for those of us who like instant gratification! But I do have to say, totally worth it in the end. :)

  3. I am an instant gratification girl myself! Recently found your blog from Pinterest when I 'pinned' the picture you had about the yellow vase with a cloche, which I would love to have…is that picture old? You also led me to the deer heads! I had seen some in a very high end furniture stores and they were very $$$ so thanks!

  4. Love! Cannot wait to see. I have loved your blog for the last few months. Stumbled upon you from who knows where! And, saw several weeks ago that it is such a small world (granted I am in W. Cobb, so not too far away anyway). I decorated much of the downstairs for the Sicats. Also, got the Serenbe house invite from ADAC for this Thurs. and thought of you!
    Let's get them movin on that fireplace! We are planning one sometime as well, so I need some more beauties to go by.

  5. Kellie – Hmmm…that cloche/vase was something I pinned from someone else so I can't say. Are you local to Atlanta? If so, they are super nice in Boxwoods and I'm sure you could call to inquire if they have it and how much it is before making a trip over there. Good luck!!

  6. Honeybee – such a small world!! I miss Smyrna so much…made a trip to McEntyre's Bakery last week, in fact. The Sicat's house is gorgeous – you did a lovely job :-) You aren't by chance on of the Honeybee shoppe owners, are you? Thanks for reading :-) Amanda

  7. I love the monogrammed pillow. The fabric is awesome and I just love adding an initial to just about anything. I would love for you to join my link party that opens tonight at 8pm EST. Hope to see you then.

  8. Cute!! These are super pretty. I just LOVE burlap. Its generally really inexpensive too! Thank you for sharing!

  10. Crazy!! I made some pillows out of that exact fabric for my daughter … and her last name begins with W. When she sees these, I am pretty certain she is going to want a re-do. Way too cute.

    Thanks so much,
    Mary
