*bwahahahaha*
I’m going to go ahead and warn y’all that if you dared to “come inside” last year you’re going to be seeing much of the same spooky decor. It’s kind of the perfect example of leaving well enough alone!
I made the wreath with strips of black tulle last year and added a darling decorative wand that was a gift from Sister eons ago. I’d never really had the perfect place for it…until now! I added leaf garlands that I already had around the base of the pumpkin topiaries and picked up a new smiling lantern from Target.
The foyer table is home to a gaggle of crows and loads of mice scampering up the stairs. Everything was purchased in past years: vinyl bats , witch’s hair and mice silhouettes from Michael’s, crows from Dollar Tree and Michael’s, pumpkin chandelier shades from Ballard Designs (they never seem to go on sale, if you’re wondering), standing paper mache pumpkin from Home Goods. The leaves were collected from the yard and the “beware haunted” sign was another little treat from Sister.
Like in the foyer, the dining room is haunted with crows and rats perched atop pumpkins and books. Rats, small crows and gray cloth from Dollar Tree, large crows, chalk board, wreaths, pumpkins and ribbon from Michael’s.
The kitchen table is home to another table vignette. I keep this one confined to a silver tray so that it’s easy to move for meal time. Witches hair hangs from the chandelier and glittered skeletons are spooky chair backs. Most everything from Michael’s last year.
The new and fun decorating this year was all out on the porch! The pumpkin lanterns are from Target this year.
I wrapped some sort of orange drink found at Target with wine bottle labels I’ve had in my Halloween bin for years. The mercury glass owl is from Home Goods last year.
Mini white pumpkins and small crows (Dollar Tree last year) are piled up in the large shell bowl.
I made the Nevermore canvas (tutorial coming soon) for the mantle and was thrilled that Sister was able to procure “Skelly” for me at Target after searching for him at every one in my area to no avail. The bat mobile is from Pottery Barn Kids at least five years ago and the items on the coffee table are some I’ve had forever as well. I made two new lumbar pillow covers and a bow tie for “Skelly” out of fabric left over from our play set top. The sofa pillows are from Target either last year or the year before.
If you were wondering, the kids aren’t the least bit scared of “Skelly”. In fact, they have really taken to the old bag of bones.
Glad y’all dared to come inside!
xoxo
