Lilly Birthday Luncheon {The Party}

I was so so very excited to host a little Lilly birthday luncheon celebrating our January birthday gals – Mother and CeeCee!!  Of course, any excuse to pull out the pink, prints and Lilly is a-ok with me.

I covered the table with a twin matelesse spread that used to be in our guest room, and dotted the center with stems cut from a single bouquet from Trader Joes.

I mixed two prints of Lilly melamine plates and three prints of goblets.

I never, ever make cakes so this was a rare day in the W household.  I wasn’t thrilled with the way it looked, but the taste erased any doubts.

We drank strawberry and basil infused water (a la Paris Market) and Strawberry Limeade.

The lunch was so yummy and lady like – chicken salad croissants, fruit salad with honey vanilla yogurt, endive, orange and roquefort salad, and jalapeno cheddar crackers.  I’ll post all of the recipes later in the week!!

  1. So precious! Very lady like and I think your cake was lovely. Looked yummy to me! Love the pic of your Mom and CeeCee. Your Mom is so pretty and of course Miss CeeCee is ADORABLE. Great job, as usual.

  2. The cake looks like one I enjoyed many moons ago called a "thunder and lightening " cake, which was a strawberry and cream cake I think (the baker was an old friend from Charleston when were both living in Italy and I lost her recipe in our move back home). Care to share your recipe? Thank you!
