Tag…I’m It

It’s been a good long while since I’ve done one of these, so I was thrilled when bestie R tagged me in the latest little blog hop!  I think y’all will know most all of this, but here we go…

1.  Are you named after someone?
Not to my knowledge.  I guess Mother and Daddy-O just liked the name Amanda.  And Colleen is a nod to our Irish heritage.

2. When was the last time you cried?
Lord have mercy, I was crying like a baby every day after ankle-gate 2014.  I must have dried up the well during those first two weeks because I can’t recall crying at all since I missed my race in early May.  (Speaking of which, I’m signed up for a new endeavor in late September!!)

3.  Do you have kiddos?
Yes and I love them with every fiber of my being.  I’m blessed with two beautiful sons here on earth and a third in heaven.

4.  If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
I sure hope so!  I try to be a good wife, mommy, daughter, sister and friend every single day!

5. Do you have a guilty pleasure?
Well, I guess that would be my love of Nerds and my penchant for young adult fiction.

6.  Do you like handwriting?
I LOVE handwriting and think there is no substitute for a handwritten note.  Bestie R has the most beautiful penmanship and bestie S writes the loveliest thank you notes and birthday cards of anyone I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.

7.  What’s your favorite cereal?
Granola – over my greek yogurt with Savannah Bee Company honey and fresh fruit.  I hate milk.

8.  What’s the first thing you notice about people?
How quick they are to smile and if they make eye contact.

9.  What’s the color of your eyes?
Brown.  Blah.  So glad the littles got gorgeous green and blue :-)

10. Scary movie or happy endings?
I like a good happy ending, but I tend to choose scary or suspense when I’m not at the latest animated flick with the littles.

11. Favorite TV shows?
Remember that aforementioned penchant for young adult fiction?  Well, I have the same issue with my television time.  Favorites are Pretty Little Liars, Vampire Diaries, Glee, Ravenswood and Reign.  Of course, I adore Downton Abbey and I do love So You Think You Can Dance? and Mr. Selfridge.

12. Summer or Winter?
I’m a summer loving gal through and through.  Do I need to reiterate what a nightmare Atlanta is in the winter?

13.  Hugs or kisses?
A hug from anyone but my littles and my Honey.  Then I’m always up for a kiss!!

14.  Do you have any special talent?
I get stuff done.  I can work through a massive to-do list in no time flat.

15.  Where were you born?
I am proud to call Savannah, Georgia, Hostess City of the South, my birthplace and the home of my heart.

16.  What are your hobbies?
I adore making the days special for my littles, decorating, blogging, reading, cooking, running (who ever would’ve thought?!?) and daydreaming about Disney vacations.

17.  Do you have any pets?
No pets yet.  Thank goodness.

18.  Favorite movie?
If I had to pick just one I do believe it would be Sound of Music.

19.  What color is your car?
Silver with a layer of dead bugs on the windshield and dirt on the rest.  I keep my house immaculate but my car is like a moving road hazard.

20.  What do you want to be when you grow up?
I just want to be me – happy, healthy and with my family and friends.  When the littles eventually leave the nest, I want to move to Disney for a year.  Honey will golf and I will be a cast member and we will text each other things like… Meet me in Paris for dessert and champagne at ten.  We’ll watch the fireworks at night and explore the parks by day.  And then we’ll come back home and live in our very same house for the rest of forever.

So with that, I’m going to tag six more…

Amelia at Monograms ‘n Mud (who I met in real life and instantly hit it off with this spring!!)
Cherish at Southern Soul Mates
Eileen at Lobster Meets Peach (Time to get back to blogging, girl.  I miss you!)
Heather & Vanessa at At the Picket Fence
Jennifer at Belclaire House
Shelley at Calypso in the Country

While I’m answering questions, let me know if there is something else you’d like to know :-)  In the meantime, I’ll be sweating it out at the baby’s baseball tournament all.weekend.long.
xoxo

  1. Loved this! Although I must admit I am a little freaked out by how similar we apparently are. Vampire Diaries is the standard all other TV shows are judged upon. I have been hunting a summer replacement to no avail. (I may try Teenwolf. ). Even down to the Sound of Music. I can quote/sing the entire movie. I also tell everyone that I will be moving to Disney when I get my kids thru school. For now, I just have to get my fix via our too short trips and being a Disney travel planner and planning everyone else's vacations! ( And a teacher by day.)

  2. Thanks for tagging me! I haven't done one of these in awhile..should be fun! I love your Disney plan. I had to laugh about the car comment though. I have the same problem with my car. I let my kids eat snacks in there when we are running from one activity to another so it can get pretty messy! Plus I always end up spilling iced tea in the console so I really can't blame them for all the mess! Enjoy your weekend!

  3. So glad you participated! I always love hearing more about fellow bloggers, even though yes, I did know most of the answers. However, I HATE milk too!! Your perfect breakfast sounds a lot like mine. Waiting with bated breath for our blueberries to ripen!! And, gosh darn it…keeping a car clean here this year is not small feat. First new car I have had that is disgusting non-stop…snow, ice, road salt, pollen and now bugs! YUCK!!!

  4. Love it!! Especially dreaming of a year in Disney. You're a girl after my own heart!

  5. Lauren – Ok, immaculate was a bit of an overstatement. However, compared to my car I think it works :-) I just don't let my house ever get too far out of hand. We pick up every night before bed and try keep up with things during the day as well. Sure, I have a stack of things for the blog on my dining room table, papers to go through on the kitchen table and the den is covered in board games. But, it's organized chaos that could be cleaned up pretty quickly if needed.

  6. Do you have a schedule for certain household matters….meaning, do you grocery shop on the same day…clean…iron…laundry? Everything looks so effortless! How do you do it, besides the nightly picking up of things?

  7. Thanks for tagging me. I will have to get myself in gear and post my answers. And my car is a filthy mess while the house is almost always clean. As of right now my car contains 2 sets of golf clubs, a baseball bag, stroller, spare swim team bag, a box full of swim meet/pool snacks & 1/2 dozen beach towels. Sadly I can't think of one thing I named that we don't actually use.
