S is for Snack {Free Printable}

The baby’s class wrapped up their unit on letters today with a fabulous little parade! Each student chose a letter and dressed accordingly. The teachers asked me to provide a snack for the class and I had so much fun coming up with this…

In each bag there is a cheese stick and apple slices, with water to wash it all down. Healthy, tidy and pretty darn cute!

I purchased the lined paper bags from Endless Inkabilities on etsy and was thrilled at how fast she shipped them out. With everything that’s been going on around here I was very late in ordering them. I ran them straight through my printer and couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out!

You can download the free printable files below. The bags are sized to print at 5×7.5” and the cheese and water labels should be cut in 1” strips.

Whit chose “M is for man” for the day’s events and was extremely particular on exactly how a man should dress. “Mans wear long pants, shirts with lots of buttons and a tie.” Done, done and done.

The kids paraded around the track for their parents, and the whole thing was just darling. We were out of town the day that John’s class did this in Kindergarten so I had a lot of fun being a first timer.

Right after the parade, John’s class took the field for their Olympics celebrating the end of the unit on ancient Greece. There were four events and John won THREE of them for the boys. He was so excited and his classmates really couldn’t have been more positive or encouraging – with high fives and hugs abounding. It was really good for my mommy heart to see him smiling like this!

With that, I’m beyond ready for the weekend. Both my babies are smiling, bestie M’s mom is officially cancer free, my ankle is improving, my MRI is done and my follow-up appointment got bumped up by four days. Things are looking up! :-)

  1. I'm happy your week is ending on an up note. Have a great weekend. I hope things at school are working out also. My grandsons aren't having the best entrance to school. My baby grandson (from my middle daughter) has a significant separation anxiety going on. My older grandson (from my oldest daughter) has gone from a precious preschool that he has been at since he was two and he loved to a public school with a teacher that "shall we say is a bit harsh and prickly" and not the sweet teacher we were hoping for. Plus the Common Core program that does not allow any free time or centers. Just 60 minute and 90 minute academic blocks. His introduction to school has not been what we were hoping for. :-(. We are hoping things will improve with as much encouragement we can muster.

  2. Okay, the snack is adorable, but Whit takes the cake with that big smile, gingham & bow tie!!!

And wow & congratulations to John – way to go!

    Enjoy your weekend! xoxo

  3. Amanda, I love your blog and found it quite by accident. I feel like I know your family and your Mama heart. You are an inspiration to many. This week, when I checked your blog, I just felt something was wrong. I began praying for your family. The next day I saw you post on your little one and have been praying since then. Looks like God laid you on my heart. Thanks for sharing your joys and your struggles.

  4. Too cute..I know the teachers at your school all pray that they get John and Whit so Amanda will be there room mother!! Also glad things are looking up for you. Have a great weekend.

  5. Dear Amanda, I felt exactly the same as Linda G. above. I had an email in my "to do" file, ready to send but was hesitant to, out of respect for your privacy.

Then, I had a two day headache and couldn't believe what was happening as I caught up with you. I too sensed something was amiss….which proves your blog family loves you so much….you are our pied piper!

May your days get better and better. I am praying for all of you…from sea to shining sea, special friend.

Lastly, I just have to ask – What letter is the girl with the red hat and the one with the box? It was such fun trying to figure them all out….but your little man really did steal the show! Get him some Derby tickets immediately!

Congratulations, John! What a champ you are. You are a born leader, just like your mom. :)

Every day has something fun and beautiful to be grateful for. Keep the faith and stay strong.

    God bless,

  6. Ok, your boys are adorable as always, and you once again win the prize for craftiness. But, I laughed out loud at the picture of the girl with the shade on her head. She obviously had the letter "L". I would have never thought to be a lamp. Glad your young man is smiling again and hope it continues.

  7. My Cherie Amour,

Thanks! I completely over thought that. I have them all figured out now. :) What a cute line-up.

Have a great day…God bless and pleas keep praying for our gal.

    Sincerely,
    Jane , San Diego

  8. Both boys are so adorable! I'm glad they had fun and your creations are awesome ~ as usual. I'm sure the teachers love having you help out with any occasion or activity. :)

I so hope your friend's mother is feeling the prayers and support of so many.

  9. Hi Amanda. I know this might be a silly question but I am wondering what type of printer you have. My old girl does not like any "foreign objects". She is just a plain piece of paper kind of gal. I would love to be able to print items like those bags and wondered if you would share your printer wisdom with me. Thank you so much!
