Operation Organization

I have loved participating in Operation Organization at 11 Magnolia Lane since they kicked the series off a few years back.  I’ve shared our homework cart and some lovely spaces in my family office, the garage, the mudroom and the kitchen over the years.

Well, I’m back at it today for the 2015 Back to School Edition of Operation: Organization!  Hop on over there and check it out, then come back for more sources and details!!

  1. Two stair-step shelf organizers – these were $8 a piece and were much cheaper and more functional than other things we saw.

2. Forty-eight glass spice jars with shake tops  – these are $11 for a set of 12 on Amazon plus shipping, but I also found for .99 cents a piece at Bed Bath & Beyond.  With 48 jars needed, this did add up for my project.  That being said, I didn’t find anything nearly as nice at this price despite countless searches!

3. Labels – I just printed mine out in a grid on full page label paper, cut them out and stuck them on.  If I’d had time to hunt down return address labels, that would have been a good option.

And while it’s not one of my more beautiful projects, no one can deny that it’s functional and practical.

  1. Great ideas! FYI – you can find the exact same Kamenstein spice jars at Big Lots for only $.88 each. I use them for a variety of things in my crafting.

  2. I’m going to do this tonight. I had to stop to get something to cook tonight anyway and I think my boys will love this!
As far as our usual weeknight favorite by far…sloppy Joe’s with a side of corn on the cob and some watermelon for dessert. So easy, fast, and they gobble it up.
