Halloween House {Calling All Spirits to the Porch}

Today is one of my very favorite spaces to share on the Halloween Home Tour – the porch!

DDHalloween

October must be the most glorious month of the year to have a porch in the South.  It’s just downright lovely so spend time out here no matter the time of day!  For that very reason, I put a lot of love and thought into making the space super spooky for my little monsters.

The Nevermore canvas has survived another year in storage, and our friend Skelly is back again too!  We sure have missed his silly little self for the last eleven months.  Rumor has it that he has a friend arriving soon.  Shhhh…. don’t tell the boys!

I covered the map on the coffee table with kraft wrapping paper to keep things cohesive.  My normal decor was swapped out for things like skeletons and skulls, pillows were slipped into their Halloween covers and I added blankets to the chairs for our weekly fireside s’mores!

I added new fall pillow covers and a darling plaid throw that will transition straight through to Christmas this year.

Our s’mores bar is in full swing again, much to everyone’s delight!  We love to do reese’s cups and marshmallows on ritz crackers, along with the traditional hershey bar variety.  In case you’re wondering, I bring this stuff in to the kitchen counter when not in use.

I kind of tuckered out on the table out here, throwing a few fresh mini pumpkins and crows in a tray and calling it a day.

After riding the Haunted Mansion ad nauseum in Disney, we were all chanting Madame Leota’s lines non stop.  I knew I had to put it on our chalkboard this year!  See how I create them here.

Last but not least, the porch entry got a tulle wreath (DIY) and a few jack o lanterns!

  1. Your porch is one of my most favorite rooms in your house (I think I discovered your blog thru it)! Love, love Halloween and the cool decors you added to this space! I just finished my Halloween Dining room too!

  2. Amanda, your porch looks very spooktacular! Skelly seems to have made himself at home out there and he is looking quite comfortable in the seat he has chosen. Scarey on, Amanda!

  3. Hi Amanda,

    This is so great! If I could duplicate any space in your house in my own it would be your porch! Swoon!!! Question – where do you store everything when your decorations are out? I always find when I’m putting items out I don’t know where to put my everyday decor. Thanks in advance for your advice!
