Our Family Valentine

We enjoyed a lovely “family” Valentine’s Day, kicking off the morning with HOT Krispy Kremes.  Is there anything better?  This is our go-to for birthdays, holidays and special days.

This year we forewent the Valentine’s Dance at the club for the ballet.  Yayyy!  We saw Atlanta Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty.  It was a great, family friendly show and I enjoyed it immensely.

We spent our evening making pizzas at home.  I made my own dough for the first time and it turned out great!!  (using this recipe) Everyone loved topping their pizza to their liking.  The oddest combo was definitely John’s celery, tortilla chip and tomato.

We wrapped up a lovely day piled up in the den with popcorn and Snow White.  I was SO excited when this was released from the Disney vault a few weeks ago.  My littles had never seen it!

I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful day with loved ones.

  1. Looks amazing! I’m glad you had a fun family day! Could you possibly share the dress you wore to the ballet? I see pink tulle(?), and I’m a sucker for that. ;) You look great!

  2. Oh how I miss hot Krispy Kreme donuts!!! There’s nothing like them. I was born and raised in the South. Now I live in the North with my wonderful husband. However the South will always be near and dear to my heart.
It looks and sounds like you had a lovely time with your family. As usual you fixed everything so festive. Thank you for sharing. I love your blog.

  3. Sounds like a perfect day to me any day but specifically for Valentine’s Day. I love that you took the littles to the ballet. That doesn’t happen enough and it makes it much harder when they are older if they haven’t already gained an appreciation. Maybe Dracula will come around and they can see that one!

As always, I love how you find multiple ways to celebrate holidays (as well as turn regular days) into true celebrations! I am most certain you have shared below, but where did you find the adorable heart plates and “chargers”?

And finally I love the jammies you had on while noshing on the Krispy Kremes!!! May I ask where you found those lovelies?

    Happy Belated Valentine’s Amanda!

    1. Hi!! Let’s see, YES I am hopeful Dracula will come back again. They were too little last time it was done. The plates are all pretty old – I believe all were from Target. They always have cute seasonal plates. The jammies are Vineyard Vines. Last time I checked they were on sale and there was a code floating around for an additional 40% off sale prices. Have a great night!!!

  4. There’s nothing like a hot Krispy Kreme. We’re going Friday as soon as my dad gets off the airplane from Orlando (where he’s been for a few months.) Your homemade pizzas look delicious.
