The Delightful Door {Easter}

As soon as the sun came up on March 18, it was back to the attic with the shamrock and out came our Easter cross.  This is one of my very favorite door hangers of all, and I was so excited when I found it in Bronwyn Hanahan’s lineup last Spring.

In addition to the new door hanger, I am beyond excited to have Ferns 2.0 out in the pots!!!  Yippeee!!!!  After many years of leggy and just plain dead flowers in my front pots, last year I had great luck with ferns.  They lasted all the way from Christmas to Easter last year, so here’s to hoping for the same in 2016!!

Lest you think everything is always spic and span around here, let me zoom out a bit to show the the space where a shutter fell clean off the house a couple of weeks ago.  Yes, a couple of weeks ago.  Honey doesn’t do heights so I’ve yet to figure out how to get it back up there.

Back to prettier things, I was so excited last year when I found pre-made chevron printed burlap bows at Michael’s for the two pups.  They match the cross perfectly.

Over on the side door I’ve got Peter Burlap Tail.  Mother made him a few years ago and I still adore him.  My shamrock’s from St. Patrick’s Day have now been planted in the pot by the side door, along with some other white flower that I don’t know the name of (but know it usually does pretty good in my pots.)

I’ve got a bunch more pots to plant today so I suppose it’s time to get crackin.

  1. Lovely! I love the chevron cross, but my heart belongs to Peter burlap tail! ?

    Is your white flower a petunia? That’s what it looks like, at least. Will your shamrocks last once the weather is hot? Never thought about planting them outside.

    I’m hoping for some time to plant pots this weekend. Somehow we’ve ended up with no baseball on Saturday (Easter I know, but it usually doesn’t matter). I’m not sure how it happened, but I’m definitely not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. ? Happy Wednesday! xo

    1. Yes, you are right – think they are petunias!! My shamrocks do fine all summer, actually. That pot doesn’t drain very well so I wonder if they like that. Who knows… I only know that I’ve had shamrocks there 3 of the last 5 years and they lasted through fall. :-) Enjoy your baseball free holiday!!

  2. Amanda thanks for sharing that missing shutter!!:) It makes me feel better about the weeds in my front beds that need attention. It has still been chilly here so I am waiting on putting out my flowers. I love ferns too! They always look good.

  3. Your door with the cross looks great, and the Peter burlap tail is adorable! Happy Easter to you and your family! <3

  4. Your house looks great! I love the cross on the door! I had been searching for Easter door hangers but couldn’t find one I loved enough, but I love everything in Bronwyn Hanahan’s shop so I’ll definitely have to bookmark that for the future! Thanks for sharing!
