Magical Monday: Somewhere Over the Rainbow {Aulani + Hawaii}

To wrap up my little video series of our spring break trip, I’ve finally finished our magical week in Hawaii staying at Disney’s Aulani Resort.

See my original GoPro post for details on our camera and such.

So many incredible experiences left us with many magical memories.  It was a 40th birthday trip of a lifetime!

  1. That was perfect! I loved so much about it…so cute with the kids dancing. That song also holds a special place in my heart. When my youngest finished 1st grade, his class did an end of the year celebration where they played that song. They all set on the floor cross-legged while they sang along and acted out the words with their hands…I was practically sobbing all the way through their performance. (“I hear babies cry and I watch them grow”…) Now I get tears in my eyes whenever I hear that version of the song. Great video! You really had a trip you will remember forever!
    Enjoy your week!

    1. I also adore that song. Iz really does a wonderful job with merging two faves together. Gosh, so many of those lines are so true for me as well. xoxoxo

  2. This is so great, Amanda. Thanks for sharing. And it looks like I’ll be ordering more tags – those hey y’all are adorbs!!!

  3. I loved watching your video! We have been talking about getting a go pro to take on our ski trips, but I never considered using it for Disney. We are going on a Disney cruise in November and doing Mickey’s Christmas party so I think the go pro would be great. What do you use for your regular photos? Our last 2 Disney trips I have taken our Cannon rebel but its pain to wag around the park.

    P.S. Your idea for parchment paper under the pizza on the BGE has been life saving! You don’t know how many pizzas I have almost thrown in the grass because I couldn’t get them from the slide onto the stone. We just made one Saturday now I need to add BBQ chicken to the list.

  4. Wonderful video! The song was so perfect and you and your family are just darling! Indeed the trip of a lifetime!

  5. Great video! Does the GoPro also take the stills in this video or do you haul around two different cameras? Also, how long did it take you to put this together and with what software? Have been debating on a GoPro but not sure…

    1. Thank you! Yes, it takes stills, but I use my other camera (small point and shoot) for those. I can actually do both at the same time or I enlist Honey or John to help. I edit with Windows MovieMaker (free). It’s very easy to use. However, the whole thing IS time consuming and you’d really have to want to commit to doing something with the videos to make it worth it.
