Double Ones

I can hardly believe that John turned 11 today. He’s smart, happy, thoughtful and perceptive.  I admire his self confidence and drive, and grateful for the immeasurable joy, excitement and fun he’s brought to our life for the last eleven years.  I’m so incredibly proud of this kid and so very humbled to be his mom.

We’ve been celebrating all week, kicking things off with a sleepover party LAST Friday, but that didn’t make the fact that another year has flown by any less shocking this morning.  This crew jumped for 2 hours at the trampoline park, contributed to the biggest bill I’ve ever seen at Waffle House, and had a grand old time.  One thing I love about this pic is that we’ve known these kids for YEARS.  And I hope they stick together for years to come.

On Friday we celebrated with Honey’s family!  Juju made a yummy soup just for John and I handled the requested cookie cake.

The festivities continued this morning with the appearance of our elf, Scout, and a great pile of Krispy Kreme donuts!

John loved his “forever gift”, a lovely wood watch, and was absolutely OVER THE MOON with his other gift – tickets to WWE Live in December.  HA!

We wrapped up the week of John with our first visit to TopGolf with the L family!  It was such a fun night and something we all can’t wait to do again!!

  1. John is growing into such a fun, fine young man. I know how proud you must be of him! Happy Birthday, John – we hope ELEVEN is the best year yet!

  2. ELEVEN GIANT WISHES, JOHN!
It’s hard to believe you are “counting on your toes” now! :-)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and gimme that Santa
    Krispy Kreme!

  3. What wonderful birthday activities! Please tell me that you don’t actually have to go to WWE? Surely, Honey can handle that one? I have actually never been, thank goodness, although I did enjoy the Monster Jam.

  4. So happy to see that John had a great 11th birthday! He is such a nice looking young man and with the sweetest smile and face. You certainly have every right to be a proud Mom!!
