Sleepover

You may recall just about six months ago when the PCP had his very first slumber party with college bestie N’s son L.  Well, it was high time to repay the fun and we were just delighted to have the party at our place this go-round.

We went swimming at the club, played superheros and the wii during a short Southern thunder storm, dined on the supper of choice for five year olds (Little Caesar’s Pizza – to which I have trained my dubious taste buds to actually like), climbed trees (bless those poor Japanese maples), rode bikes, zip lined, caught fireflies (and later went to sleep with their Mason jars by their beds), roasted marshmallows for Smores and then played Legos and discussed Batman way, way, way past their bedtime.

I had to pinch myself all night to make it real – these guys, friends from the womb, used to sit on the sofa propped up against each other while their momma’s chatted for hours on end and now they are having sleep overs and heading off to for-real school in a couple of months.

And after breakfast at Waffle House the next morning, we all headed to bestie C’s pool for a swim and lunch. It was a pretty grand time when it was all said and done.

Cookie and Lulu (have no idea what happened to the pics of the rest of the crew??)

I’m so so so very thankful to have days and nights like these – doing nothing aside from enjoying friends and family.
xoxo

  1. Ok that trip down memory lane brought a tear to my eye. Our sweet boys are getting so big!!! So hard to believe kindergarten is on the horizon. Thanks again for having him over. Looks like they had lots of fun!
