Turkey Treats

Inspired by something I pinned a while back, the baby and I set to work making Turkey Treats for Thanksgiving parties at both little’s schools this week.  I should clarify…I set to work making Turkey Treats while the baby gobbled up the ingredients as fast as he could chew.

These really couldn’t be easier!  We set out to make “light meat” turkeys (Golden Oreos and Nutter Butters) for both affairs, but thank heaven Sister happened to remind me, just in the nick of time, that the baby’s school is nut free.  Being somewhat of an Oreo nut, I actually had regular and mini Oreos on hand so we made “dark meat” (and nut free) turkeys for the baby’s class.

You’ll need:
– Double stuff oreos (golden or regular)
– mini Nutter Butters OR mini Oreos
– candy corn
– red and white cookie icing
– black sprinkles

Here’s how:
Gently slide four candy corn, point down, into the thickest part of the Oreo stuffing.

Apply a little white icing to one side of mini Nutter Butter.  Adhere it to the bottom center of the Oreo.

Pipe on the turkey’s face, using black sprinkles for the eyeballs.

Hope y’all have a fabulous day.  The baby and I will be dining with the PCP at school for lunch and then I’m heading out to Bunco tonight!!!
xoxo

  1. So stealing this for Teacher Breakfast Friday morning. i like to give them a baggie to take with an afternoon snack…clear bag, brown ribbon, and maybe a Happy Thanksgiving tag! Thanks for the inspiration!

    XOXO,

  2. This is so fun! I bet my kids would love this! What a great idea! I am so happy you shared this @ Show & Share, thank you SO much!

  3. Love this idea. I have one child allergic to Peanut butter and one allergic to chocolate. I have seen the chocolate turkeys, but not vanilla. I could substitute some small nilla wafers for the nutter butter. Thanks so much for this post.
