New Orleans {Cocktails}

One thing’s for sure…besties R and J know how to have a grand time!  From sun up to well past sun down, we sipped on a bevvy of scrumptious libations while shopping and eating our way from one end of the city to the other.  Here are our faves…

We couldn’t pass up this old New Orleans haunt…located on the most fashionable corner of the French Quarter!
A great place to rest weary feet and grab a cocktail while overlooking the river!
The grandeur of old New Orleans is at it’s best in the Roosevelt.  As such, the Christmas decor was just breathtaking.  Lounging in a plush banquette and sipping on a Sazerac (what else?!?!), we had the pleasure of meeting up with R’s sister and friends.
This was my favorite drinkery of the lot!  The atmosphere was swanky, the cocktails fresh and interesting and the food divine.  I could have stayed here all night.
We rounded out our night listening to live jazz at The Polo Lounge, a gentlemen’s bar that’s Ralph Lauren-ish in decor.
These lovely lounges were a far cry from the days when my visits were spent on Bourbon Street.  Don’t get me wrong…Bourbon Street is a rite of passage in the Big Easy…a must do if you haven’t already done.  At this stage and age, I was just as happy as a clam at these, say, a little tamer establishments :-)
After reading that recap I must rest my liver…at least until cocktail hour.
xoxo

  1. Thank you so much for the New Orleans posts! My husband is from Baton Rouge and whenever we go to the city we pretty much only go to Bourbon street/surrounding areas. It's great to see where the classy blog girls hang out! We're considering getting a home there (we're in California, he's in the movie biz) and I'm so happy to see that I will still have cute shops and cocktail places to visit!!
