Now that I’m in the midst of taking down my holiday decor, I’m looking back on this and laughing. A little. You see, for a couple of years now, I’ve day dreamed of a gorgeous flocked tree. Delicately mounded drifts of snow. Mixed greenery peeking through. Ethereal and natural…
But these beauts come with a pretty fine price tag and, again this year, I resigned myself to the fact that it wasn’t going to happen. That is, until I had the (what I thought to be) genious idea to go with a much more attainable white tree. And so I procured it, decorated it and absolutely, positively HATED it. It was so incredibly artificial. The tree too white and the ornaments too gold. Everything was off. It was like some sort of glowing alien beacon. UGH.
I despised it so much that I took the whole darned thing down and put up a green tree the very next day. It came and went so fast that I don’t even have a picture of it in the daylight. (But I assure you it was equally as hideous.) And all was well in half crazed, entirely type A Amanda-land.
You can bet your bottom dollar I won’t be straying from a traditional green tree anytime soon.
Happy Monday y’all. It’s the last day of Christmas vacation around these parts. Boo hoo hoo.
xoxo
I get it though, that first little white tree was totally beautiful! I hate when you do a project and it just doesn't come out right or how you hoped. I hope you get to check out my blog today, I'm having my first giveaway!
I bet it wasn't that bad, but I know exactly how you feel. I do the exact same thing. Hope your having a great day! xo
This was such a cute post! You can never be happy, when things just aren't 'right'! LOL! I just did a post about that yesterday. I rearranged things after Christmas and ended up hating it! Sometimes, I guess, it should just stick with what works!
Yes, I agree..sometimes things are better left to be natural…However, I do have a flocked tree that I love, but it is an upside down tree!…If you wish, you can take a peek at it on my blog: http://www.housepitaltydesigns.com and it will be under the post "Oh Christmas Tree" It is certainly different!
Love our postings! I am a follower!
Was your tree (that you hated) a flocked tree or a white tree??? In the picture it looks white. Just curious. XO, Pinky
It was just white. I've seen pretty white trees too, but something about my all gold ornaments with the white tree was just too artificial for me!
