Proud

As Father’s Day draws to a close, I am so very thankful for both the father that raised me and the father that’s raising my littles. I’m grateful for their kind hearts and I love them both with all of mine.  I’ve written about loving these two, and today I’m going to share how proud I am of them.   I’m so proud of my Daddy.  He’s a self-made man.  He’s only in his sixties and he’s retired.  He’s never met a stranger.  He outright owns one of the most beautiful homes on one of the most beautiful properties in Savannah.  He’s incredibly loyal.  He’s insanely smart (and will deny that fact to his grave.)  He lost more than a hundred pounds through diet and exercise.  He’s got a quick smile and a kind heart.  He loves me unconditionally.  And I am proud to be his daughter. March 2009 222I’m equally as proud of my husband.  He too is a self-made man.  He has a heart of gold and loves his family with every fiber of his being.  He traded a promising and well paying but travel intensive career for one that would have him at home with us every day of every year.  He’s the most patient man I’ve ever known.  He’s never, ever raised his voice in my presence.  Ever.  He’s a quiet genius.  He’s the handsomest man I’ve ever laid eyes on.  He shares my hopes and dreams.  And I am proud to be his wife.
