Braves Country

In between days worth of a torrential downpour, the skies cleared up just long enough for us to head down to Turner Field to cheer on the Braves in a big win against the Mets this past weekend.  It was a delightful day, we had wonderful seats, and the three boys were just as happy as clams with their good fortune!

We brought in a little cooler with drinks and a couple of bags of those Braves peanuts you see at the grocery store, but I knew I was still going to be eating one of those Holeman & Finch hallowed burgers.  They were just as delish at the field as they ever were waiting in line at the “public house”.

After Sunday games, kids ages four to fourteen can run the bases.  We usually do go to a Sunday game each season, but this was the very first one in seven years that we made it through to the end.  Needless to say, they were ecstatic to finally get down on the field and give it a go!

They received brand new Braves shirts that say “I ran the bases at Turner Field” and certificates.  They seriously did not stop talking about it all.night.long.  If I had a list of must dos for every little Atlantan, this would definitely be on it!  The line seemed to go on forever but it moved quickly and was worth every second of the wait!

It started drizzling just as we were leaving.  I never tire of seeing Old Glory flying high in the sky.

  1. Such fun at a baseball game with your family! I remember those days with my kids, now my son is playing D1 college baseball and my newly college graduate just landed her dream job with the Giants! We are a baseball family! Enjoy the time with your family

  2. We went last Friday night and sat in the section right near those Holeman and Finch burgers! It was fun just to walk around and smell them! I totally forgot they were going to start serving them there!

  3. Such a fun day!! My husband and boys were there also. Although the boys were way to tired to run the bases! My husband surprised the boys with a "mini" season package. I think the buyer can select ten games. So he was able to get tickets for himself and the boys

  4. Such fun for the kids……We are HUGE Met fans in our home so I will forgive you for being a Brave fan…..the Mets struggle with them every year! LOL!!!!

  5. What? Kids ages 4-14 can run the bases at Turner Field? Please tell me they give mommas over the age of 40 a chance to do the same…'cause I am there! Go Braves!
