School Daze

Things are kind of in a tizzy around these parts, with school, baseball and a flurry of things all wrapping up over the next three weeks.  Gals, we’re talking a baseball tournament, Muffins with Mom, end of year performance for the baby, Author’s Tea, Field Day, the school Marathon, Awards Day, our anniversary, Honey’s birthday, Bird’s birthday, aaaand our curb appeal project (I’ve probably even missed something).  I guess you could say I’m in a little bit of a daze :-)  So, being the perpetual type-A that I am, I have started a list of things I don’t want to forget to do as we wrap up the PCP’s first grade year.  These were my favorites from Kindergarten last year…

Take a last day picture…

Sit the PCP down and extract memories from his crazy little brain…

Send his Oh the Places You’ll Go book to his teacher to sign…

Set up a last day of school walk of fame and snack.  This was truly one of the most special moments we’ve ever had.  Ever.  I’ll never forget the look on his face when he got off the bus…

and organize the PCP’s teacher’s class gift.  Whew!  The sweet reward at the end of the month will be worth it all…

None of it is required or even necessary, but it’s celebrating little things like the last day of school that make my day!

  1. You always amaze me with your incredible creativity and love for your family! I love reading your blog!
Also, I'm, sending a BIG Congratulations to John! You did it buddy! Yay!!!

  2. Love your ideas! We are in the midst of crazy May too. I woke up last night and my mind was racing with all the things we need to do. Luckily it is all fun stuff and you've given me some great ideas to make them even more special.

  3. Those are SUCH great ideas Amanda! This month is insane for us too and I would love to be able to carve out time to celebrate the milestones and not just have them rush past us. Thanks for the inspiration! :-)
