Can’t Leave Well Enough Alone

I don’t know if the rest the girls would agree, but I think one of Daddy-O’s most common sayings is “{they / you / y’all / I} just can’t leave well enough alone”.  (This comes right before “Amanda.  You left your mouth running.”)  Well, I heard him whispering in my ear today as I continued to tinker around with new armoire bar.

I was pushing the buggy around the Publix and before I knew what was happening, things like San Pells and key limes were hopping in.  And one thing led to another and suddenly I’m at the liquor store buying Bombay Sapphire (much to Honey’s supreme delight).

And now, I’m truly in love.  And no, I don’t plan to keep that silver bowl stocked with divine little key limes around the clock.  I have probably never shared this random tidbit, but I adore bubbly water with a twist of lime.  (Regular water makes my stomach churn.)  I drink it by the bottle-fulls to offset some of the Coke, wine and sweet tea.  My mouth literally watered at the thought of bubbly water with a twist of key lime when I spied them in the store.

Now, I’m going to try my darnedest to leave well enough alone in this room.  Especially seeing as I have much to do around these parts over the next couple of weeks.

Speaking of which, I wanted to share with y’all the other Holiday Home Tour I was asked to participate in this year *squeals with delight*…  Don’t miss the 11 Magnolia Lane Open House kicking off December 3!

xoxo

  1. Pelligrino is stocked by the case here too. It was the only thing I could keep down when I was pregnant with my third. Now I go through bottles everyday…thank goodness Costco carries it for a deal.

  2. Oh- I love it- it looks so good! My hubby is the same way- he drinks bubbly lime water all the time. I am looking forward to "the tour". xo Diana

  3. I love bubbly water too! No one ever believes me when I tell them that regular water literally leaves me queasy. I love your home and your blog. Can't wait for the Christmas tour.

  4. I had to laugh. My parents will be here for Thanksgiving and that is usually the fist thing that comes out of my mother's mouth! I love changing things up. LOL I too love sparkling water with lime. I can't have lemon, so I am going to have find me some key limes for the holidays as well. The bar area looks fantastic. Looking forward to the Christmas tours!

  5. You just made me crave San Pell with a lime just reading and looking at your bar. It's beautiful! I don't think I could ever stop tinkering with my home…if I do, something is wrong!

  6. I love that Daddy-O! My dad used to always say: Why are you making so much food? Drove me crazy! Now, my husband says it! Your bar looks great and I can't wait to see you do it in other colors. :) Have a blessed holiday, Dixie! Among many blessings, I really am thankful for the simple pleasure I have of enjoying your blog every day and always look forward to seeing what you're up to. Jane ~ San Diego

  7. It isn't a good day unless I can enjoy a glass of San Pellegrino and a twist of lime…Such a treat with zero calories…I must say that I just love what you did with the armoire…such a wonderful idea..and it is stunning!
