All you need is a box of Chocolate Peppermint Cookie Mix and a tub of vanilla icing.
– Prepare and bake the cookie dough as directed. As soon as they come out of the oven, top half of them with the candy cane pieces.
– Once they are completely cooled, have your littles spread the plain half of the cookies with vanilla icing and then top with one of cookies decorated with candy canes.
– Sprinkle more candy cane pieces around the edges and you’re done!
As much as I hated to part with them, we even bagged up a couple for sweet friend M as a pick-me-up when she had the PCP spend the night last weekend.
As an aside, it’s worth mentioning that I do kind of have a thing for chocolate peppermint desserts. When I was pregnant with the baby, I guzzled down a Chick-fil-A Peppermint Chocolate Chip milkshake every.single.day during the holidays. (Do you know how many calories are in one of those? If not, DON’T LOOK.) It was obscene. So much so that I ordered TWO on Saturdays since they are closed on Sundays. It’s no wonder that the baby was nine pounds and a whole week early.

Those peppermint chocolate chip milkshakes – who could resist? They are SUPER yummy! We'll have to try these whoopie pies!
These are adorable! I'm in need of a quick something for tomorrow and these fit the bill perfectly. Do the candy cane pieces come with the mix or should I pick up some candy canes, too? I love peppermint and chocolate, too. Thanks so much for sharing!
It came with the candy pieces!
I love peppermint and chocolate together and our Christmas kitchen is well stocked with peppermint m&ms, peppermint Oreos, and peppermint creamer to stir into hot cocoa. The BEST!!!!
Love the whoopies, but I need your chocolate cover popcorn recipe! I couldnt find it when I searched popcorn. Could you be a doll and run it again? The kiddos on the block loved it and so did my big kiddos! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
I have never had a peppermint milkshake…might have to try one this year! :)
Oh my why did you mention the milkshakes lol now I must sneak a little trip to Chick-fil-a !!!
I just got my free "Christmas Truth or Dare" game out of my mailbox. Thank you so much! I can't wait to bring it out on Christmas Eve during dinner with my husband, kids, parents, brother and sister-in-law. It will be so much fun!!
LOL-I am like that with the seasonal Peppermint bon bon ice cream! TOO good! Love those cookies- xo Diana
These look delicious and seem so easy! Might have to make these for Christmas next week.
These look so good!
Such a great idea for the little ones to help with!
Thanks for sharing!
Oh my gosh – those look divine!!
And I had to laugh about your shakes when pregnant…..I had terrible morning-noon-and night sickness with my first, and someone told me coffee milkshakes were the trick to beating it…..so I went forth and had a milkshake EVERY single day from there on out! Now I think I might need a peppermint chocolate chip one……
Yummy. I have to figure out a way to make a gluten free version. Baby girl loves whoopie pies, but we haven't had them in awhile. Should be easy to duplicate. I already have some of the peppermint candy pieces. Oh, and I crave peppermint ice cream this time of year!
