On My Bedside {Bloodlines Series}

I love Richelle Mead – you know, for a quick and easy and thoroughly entertaining vampire read.  After finishing her Vampire Academy series, I was excited to see she spun two of the most interesting secondary characters off into the Bloodlines series

Goodreads says: Sydney is an alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of human and vampires. They protect vampire secrets – and human lives. When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she’s still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir Rose Hathaway. But what unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragomir – the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir – is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill’s guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the last place anyone would think to look for vampire royalty – a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. But instead of finding safety at Amberwood Prep, Sydney discovers the drama is only just beginning

So far, there are three books out in the series (the next two titles have been announced), and I’ve just finished up the last – The Indigo Spell.  I found myself perplexed when I was trying to hunt it down in the library… wandering up and down the M aisle, wondering where on earth they could have hidden ALL of Mead’s books.  Weeeeell, um, you probably guessed I was in regular fiction section, NOT in young adult.  So I packed on our library book bag, my overflowing purse and my little one and headed for “Teen Corner”.  Don’t say I didn’t warn ya.

As always, let me know what’s on your bedside!!  I go through all your comments and add them to my Goodreads to-read list!!
xoxo

  1. I love the young adult (teen) fiction series that have been coming out lately. I just 'pretend' I am reading them as research for what my daughter will all too soon be reading. I think these are better options than when I read my grandmother's old romance novels. I am a very avid reader and have been from such a young age- before I realized that just because I could read the words, didn't mean I could read the book. My daughter is the exact same.

  2. Just finished Allegiant {third in the Divergent series…not a big fan}, just started Christmas Bliss by Mary Kay Andrews, reading a Boxcar Children book with my oldest boy, and working my way through Genesis. :)

  3. I haven't gotten into any of the vampire books, although I am sure I would like them. My youngest wants me to read Hunger Games. I have a stack of books I need to get through first. Recently read, Where You Go Bernadette? for book club. Quite enjoyable. Need to finish Language of Flowers. Enjoying it thus far.

  4. I love Richelle Mead, but Bloodlines (while still enjoyable) is my least favorite series she's written. Have you read any of her adult books?

  5. I finished a book recently that I really enjoyed, although a bit dark. It is called "The Silent Wife". The story is one you will not forget. I'm sorry I don't remember the authors name but I did read the author passed away before she enjoyed the success of this book. I liked the book so much that I gave a copy to my daughter for Christmas.

  6. I'm reading The Senator's Wife (eh), and I've been trying to read Cutting for Stone. Everyone raved about it, but I'm finding it incredibly slow!

    I've never heard of this series your talking about… I'll have to check it out!

  7. I just finished Longbourn by Jo Baker and it was fabulous. If you like Downton Abby or Pride and Prejudice, it's a must-read!
