Musings

When the boys gave me this little gold vase from Target for Christmas, I vowed to keep it filled with flowers.  I’ve had such fun choosing something different and colorful every week or two.  I don’t want tulip season to ever end…

I’m still on my couch to 5k program, and bestie M is in too.  This next week looks really intimidating.  Here’s to hoping I don’t fall off the wagon…  We’ve signed up for a costumed run in a few weeks and these socks are, strangely, incredibly motivating every time I see them in my drawer.  I think I need a shirt that reads “will run for costume”.

We had such a lovely weekend here that we couldn’t wait to pull out the Big Green Egg and make our favorite pimento cheese and bacon topped burgers.  I blogged the recipe here!

Speaking of good eats, I find myself daydreaming about the biscuit beignets at Another Broken Egg cafe.  Hands down the best thing on the menu.

Honey’s mama knocked on my door last week with THIS fabulous Lilly / Estee Lauder treat in her hands.  She got me last year’s version too, but this one just takes the cake!!!  I love every single thing about it.

And while on the topic of LIlly, Honey + Lilly P sofa = swoon

Is this not the cutest little box of birthday happies?  I sure thought so!  Thank you, thank you PM for thinking of me.  (Although I blame you for my new addiction to the Trader Joe’s dark chocolate covered mints…)

How’s this for a real TBT treat??  Thanks to forever friend B for posting this one on Facebook.  I’m the gal in pink (shocker) with pink bow barrettes and a band-aid on her knee.  The cutie on the far left and B front and center are two of our Disney girls trip crew.  The cool dude in the shades was my first date – in like second grade – when he asked me to join his family for a dockside dinner at a local seafood restaurant (I ordered scallops… random, but I remember.)  The boy in the blue shirt was the handsomest lad in all of elementary school (he had a rat tail) and, after legit not seeing or even hearing about him for 25 years, he turns up as the PCP’s basketball coach in kindergarten and is now assistant coaching the baby’s baseball team with Honey.  It’s a small world after all.

Moving right along, take a gander at miss priss.  I could eat her up.  I seriously feel sad when I go a week without seeing her.  I mean, she is part mine afterall.

I finally tried the new Diet Coke Frost and, yes, it’s everything it’s cracked up to be.  Now that I mention it, I’m kind of craving one this very second.

Bestie A and I caught Saving Mr. Banks at the dollar theater last night.  It was SO good – teary and funny and beautiful.  I can’t wait to sit the littles down with a huge tub of popcorn to watch Mary Poppins this week!!

And last but not least, don’t forget to enter my Disney Truth or Dare game giveaway here!!

February 2014 264 copy

With that, hope y’all have a lovely week ahead.  I’ve got a mound of wrinkled clothes and an ironing board staring me down…
xoxo
