Saturday Night Ride

We had planned to rub elbows with the football team at Georgia Tech Fan Day, but after a long week and lots of little events we decided to just stay close to home.  So, we loaded up the bikes and hit the river trail for a Saturday night family night ride.    photo 3 (5)  I have spent countless hours over the last few months helping the baby on and off his bike when he insisted the training wheels come off.  Well, it finally clicked last night and he was beyond thrilled!!!   photo 4 (5)   We took a few little breaks on our four mile trek to admire the views along the river.   photo 1 (5)   It was such a fun evening, filled with smiles around the horn :-)   photo 5 (5)   Back at home, we had the issue of dinner to figure out.  Since we had yet to “go camping” or “make s’mores” as requested on the summer bucket list, we set up our fire pit in the driveway and enjoyed a little camp fire din din of dogs and s’mores.    photo 5 (6)   We fully loaded the dogs with onion, chili, cheese and potato stix.  Why not?!!?  I mean, we DID just go on a bike ride.   photo 1 (7)  And, since it’s just so easy and tasty, we topped our s’mores with Nutella rather than a Hershey bar.    photo 2 (7) photo 3 (7) photo 4 (6) Sometimes the best nights are the ones that just come together without fancy plans or preparations.  The only downside was that I had to get up in the middle of the night and shower because my hair reeked of smoke and was making me nauseous.  That’s what I get for being lazy and not just taking care of it when everybody else bathed before bed :-) xoxo

  1. Good for y'all! Cannot believe the kiddos start school tomorrow here. CRAZY!! And while mine are no longer in school, I still get hives thinking about it.
