Outside of throwing a turkey on the door and hanging up our “thankful tree”, I really don’t do a whole lot of decorating in the way of Thanksgiving.
Bestie S surprised me with this darling painted burlap door hanger from Glory Haus last year. He’s perfect, don’t ya think?!
I also managed to dig up my potato vine last night, which was on its last leg. The petunias were long gone. The white pansies at Home Depot looked exceptionally good this year. I really need to head back for another flat for the back porch.
Now, I know there are some that absolutely will not put up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving, but I am not one of those. I’m already preparing Honey to dig my bins out of the attic and basement this weekend!! As for the rest of the day, the littles are thrilled that we tip off basketball practices tonight!!

I love your gobble gobbler! I will be joining you in decorating before Thanksgiving – my bins are already out, and I'm trying to assess to see if there's anything I need to pick up. I don't know where the idea came from that by decorating "early" one doesn't "love Thanksgiving", but I saw that everywhere last year. I remember your reasons for decorating early, and we each have our own. I love Thanksgiving, and I host every year, but my house will be decorated for Christmas while we're eating. (Apparently this is a sticking point for me, who knew?) :-)
Looking forward to seeing your home decked out for Christmas! xo
Christmas bins are on our weekend's plans too! Cute Thanksgiving porch too.

Love the Turkey! I get my Christmas stuff out early too. It takes me a while to decorate and I like to enjoy it all for as long as I can. Have fun decorating and I can't wait to see it all!
Love the turkey! Not opposed to decorating early, but with surgery, another trip to Texas in a week, this year it will be the weekend after Thanksgiving for me. And, it gives me something to do other than watch football! LOL
God bless you this month, A. May all of your beautiful blessings fill your heart with comfort.
A couple of years ago, I started decorating before Thanksgiving and found it makes the holidays so much more enjoyable and relaxing.
The pansies are gorgeous here too and I put out loads of them last week. I had to laugh when I first read your line….I thought it said "Other than throwing a turkey OUT the door!" And immediately imagined a big, frozen Butterball coming past your pretty entry! May need a second cup of coffee today!
Stock up on Paris Tea and let the games begin!

So pretty! My petunias are still alive & well. I can't hardly believe it.
My daughter bought a new tree and it's been up since last weekend. She is an incredible decorator so of course, it's going to be gorgeous. :) Me? Not into it yet….
