This activity goes hand in hand with our 2015 family mission to “Let your life change the world, one person at a time.”
Each of us has been working daily to think of others and how small choices in our day can make such a tremendous impact on those around us. I set out a tray with paper slips in the family office and we have each written down the little (and BIG) things we’ve done to change the world in 2015.
If you’re looking for ideas, here are some on our list so far…
- helped elderly lady at Home Depot
- handed out heart shaped peppermint patties while getting hair cuts
- delivered lunches and dinners
- donated to school food drive
- invited neighbor to go on a walk
- set a good example at school
- started our Christmas Jar and gave away a book
- completed Amazing Grace Race
- volunteered to coach soccer and baseball
- volunteered to be team mom
- made sandwiches for must ministries
- contributed to the senior candy drive at church
So, they are pretty easy things that can be done in the course of our regular day! (Look at that pretty cursive!)
We’ve started a paper chain in the family office and look forward to watching it grow by leaps and bounds this Lent.
I’ll be braving mass solo with the littles again this year and I will be back tonight with an exciting announcement!!!
xoxo
I just love this! We really CAN make a difference, by loving our families & promoting peace at home first, and then carrying that out into the world – one kindness at a time, one person at a time, one day at a time – as you've so beautifully demonstrated here. ❤️
Love this Amanda!

Love the ways you instill values in your kids!
This is one of my favorite printables. We are doing a prayer chain this year too – this will be a perfect topper. Hope you feel better soon!
What a fabulous way to celebrate the Lenten season as a family. Thank you for sharing, Amanda!
You are so awesome, Amanda. I'm grateful to call you a friend. The paper chain is a sweet idea- we did something a few years in our classroom called a Kindness Chain; students would catch each other being kind, we'd write it down on a slip of paper, and create a chain. When the chain made it's way around the classroom, we had a celebration!
Can't wait to see you tomorrow!! And can't wait for the surprise you have coming to the blog!
Great ideas! Love them all.
Amanda-
You should check out my friend's website at http://www.theinfinitesmile.com . She started the non-profit that aims to teach children to perform acts of kindness and compassion to change the world. It is an awesome non-profit! It goes right along with what you are doing in your home with your family!
A wonderful idea Amanda! You are raising fine young boys.
I love this! What an incredible idea, especially during the Lenten season.
Love this & love your chain as a visual reminder of all the love & kindness that is spread… :)
