Magic Kingdom x2 + Top of the World

We spent the last two days of our trip at Magic Kingdom. It was almost torture being in the world for four days before making our way to the most magical place of all!

I’ll dish on Wilderness Lodge tomorrow, but one of my very favorite things about the resort was coming into Magic Kingdom by boat. It’s just an incredible feeling when you get that first glimpse of Main Street and Cinderella Castle from the water.

While Honey and the baby slept in, John and I made it in for rope drop on our first visit. There’s nothing like starting your morning with characters and zippity doo dah!!!!!!!!! The second day we all slept in a little.

On our rope drop morning, we headed straight to Seven Dwarves Mine Train (along with everyone else!). We were on the ride within 10 minutes and we got to experience the queue for the first time!!! Win win!! We were doubly glad that we did this when the ride shut down before our fast passes later in the morning and never reopened. Sadly, Honey and the baby missed out this trip, but they are the laid back half of our foursome so that worked way better than a vice versa situation. :-)

We also got to hit up Peter Pan and check out that reimagined (and awesome) queue since there was only a 10 minute wait after Mine Train. Every other time I’ve wanted to see it the wait was at least an hour. The early bird does get the worm!!

As for the rest of our days, the Tangled Toilets always make me smile…

We tried out the Magic Carpets for the first time in forever…

We caught Jungle Cruise at a rare walk on moment…

Aaaannnnnddddd, we got to experience the new breakfast offering at Be Our Guest!!!!!!!!

Each of us adults got something different and ALL of us really enjoyed our food. It could have been a tish warmer, but was good nonetheless. This meal is price fixe ($19.99/adult) but we scheduled a late breakfast that was more like brunch so it got us through much of the day. I’ve had a few people ask my thoughts on which meal to shoot for at Be Our Guest and, hands down, dinner is still my favorite. Lunch and breakfast is the same sort of experience so just take what you can get. I like the food the same at both meals, but lunch is cheaper. I would definitely recommend preordering your meal to save time in what is always a long line at the kiosks to order.

On our other day, we had a quick bite at Gaston’s Tavern. We hadn’t been since new Fantasyland opened, so we were due for a gargantuan cinnamon roll and LeFou’s Brew.

Aside from eating, we did Thunder Mountain three time in our two visits!!! The morning waits were so short!

We found the Share a Coke with a Pirate bevvies in Storybook Circus!!! These are exclusive to Disney so grab one if you see it!!

My bottomless pits consumed an unheard of quantity of Mickey ice cream bars, Mickey pretzels and the likes.

And they spent their OWN money on those redic sugar tubes that they’ve been coveting since birth.

It was HOT and everyone and their brother wanted to cool off on Splash Mountain. We made fast passes for both days and were so glad we did. It’s a ride everyone in our motley crew adores.

I couldn’t pass up my favorite Magic Kingdom treat – the Dole Whip!

And the baby couldn’t pass up the most darling set of Chip & Dale ears you’ve ever seen!!! He spent his own money on these but you know I would have spent mine just to see that smile.

Speaking of the baby, the one way he differs from his Daddy is that he LOVES Space Mountain. We now have a party of three to fill up the seats!

It’s criminal to have this much fun!!

We did our fair share of keeping the seats full on the People Mover and in the Carousel of Progress.

Both of our Magic Kingdom days were simply magical!!!!!!! Sights like these never get old!

Since we spent our arrival night over at Top of the World lounge for fireworks, we didn’t stay in the parks late either night.

Just like the last time we were at Top of the World, the baby crashed and missed the show.

And, on our way back to the Wilderness Lodge boat dock, we even got a high five with Peter Pan!!! Just a little extra pixie dust to end a wonderful night!!!!!!!!

I’ll wrap up this little trip report will all the deets on Wilderness Lodge tomorrow. Stay tuned!!
xoxo

  1. Hi Amanda,
Looks like you all had an amazing time! How were the crowds? We are going next month and taking our kids for the first time, and I'm so worried about the huge crowds putting a damper on our fun! It doesn't look like it was too bad for you all, so this gives me hope!
    Thanks,
    Dee

    1. It was hot and the crowds starting at lunch were crazy! If you can be there at rope drop you'll get so much done! We did five rides in MK in the first hour! Then we had out 3 fast passes so we really got to do everything we wanted. We spent afternoons at the pool and then usually did something fun in the evening when it cooled off :-)

  2. I love Disney! Looks like you had an amazing time. How do you get such great photos on the rides? I always look crazy. I must figure out where the cameras are!!! Do you have a cheat sheet on them?

    1. The only one I know is space mountain so we always do something fun. That one is right when you turn out of the lit up tunnel at the very beginning!!

  3. We were in The World at the exact same time! We did steer clear of HS during the weekend, though! ;) I know exactly what you mean, I love all the parks, but MK is my favorite. I loved seeing all your pictures!

  4. Oh my goodness, I have loved these details of your trip since I was just there! Reliving my own trip. I've never been to Gaston's Tavern. I'm putting that on the list for the next trip. That roll and special brew looked amazing (does that go with the Wheat Belly diet? J.K.). I love your pics on Space Mountain. Such a fun ride. Did you see in my post about Disney that my hubby and older son were stuck on Space Mountain and the Fire Department had to harness them and lift them out? They took pics. They saw it with all the lights on. Hayden thinks it is the best thing he has ever experienced at Disney. LOL

  5. Are you guys DVC members? I keep wondering how you get access to the Top of the World – I am so jealous!

  6. All of these photos are just wonderful! I love how your boys are so eager to participate in photos you take of them and you can tell they are the best of friends! You live a very blessed life :)
