Salt Life

At the tail end of a long, hot summer day, we whiled away the fleeting hours of daylight down at the dock.

Little Elsa checked out the salt life for the first time.

We checked the crab traps, freshly baited with sharks and stingrays from the river. (yuck) Three and counting!

The littles scurried down under the dock into the marsh mud to catch fiddler crabs.

And after all of that, we rinsed off as best we could…

… and cooled down with a cold drink of water.

This never gets old.

These are the days memories are made of.

  1. I can smell the marshes from these photos Amanda. We have many fond memories of crabbing at Tybee. I can see my late mother in law, my husband's aunt and their mama sitting around the table 'picking" crabs. My sis in law's family has an old beach house at Fort Screven and she was so kind to share it with the rest of the family. My nephew and his wife live there now. My granddaughter asked me when we were going back to Tybee…she loved our family stay there at The Sanctuary several years ago.
