Shop Local

One of my very favorite things about Savannah is the shopping! I know this might sound unbelievable, but I really don’t do much shopping in Atlanta. I don’t have a whole lot of time for it, I don’t really need anything and I am trying to save up for a bathroom reno. But I digress… shopping in Savannah is the bees knees. Here’s a little peek into a few faves:

Clutter – an array of one of a kind vintage, repurposed, consigned, and antique pieces

Annabelle’s (Sandfly) – home decor, baby items, men items, beddings, clothing, fashion accessories and much more

The Paris Market – a storehouse of treasures from the world’s most exotic and exclusive markets AND a divine cafe to boot

Palm Avenue – Lilly Pulitzer, Jack Rogers, Trina Turk, and Vineyard Vines Women

All that shopping was fueled by an array of divine local eats. After the shops, I think the restaurants are my second favorite thing about visiting home!

Byrd Cookie Company – sophisticated comfort food; don’t miss the grilled ceasar salad and ice cream cookie sammies (scotch oatmeal is my fave)

Back in the Day Bakery – their artisan sammies are soooo good (I love the farmwich with butterbean spread and fresh veggies) but leave loads of room for dessert. I went with a petite cupcake, but don’t miss the banana pudding and lavender shortbread cookies if it’s your first visit.

Now, I realize that we can’t all just hop down to Savannah at the drop of a hat… or even to Georgia or the South for that matter. So it seems fortuitous that the latest Georgia Crafted box to come across my desk is themed #GeorgiaEats. In partnership with The Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Tourism division, the August box contains a small sample of some of the best flavors offered across the state.

Each box will come with five amazing Georgia food products PLUS other culinary themed items from every corner of the Peach State. I had a little birdie tell me this amazing bamboo cutting board just might be one of those items!!

In case I’ve peaked your interest, hop on over to Georgia Crafted by July 31!!

With that, I’m off to down some MORE iconic Georgia eats myself… this time in the form of Mother’s ham, butter beans and scalloped potatoes.
xoxo

  1. If it ever cools off I must make a shopping trip to Savannah. You make it look so marvelous! I absolutely must know where Cee Cee found her most adorable shoes. She is quite the fashion forward young lady! I have no doubt that my granddaughter would adore shoes just like those.

  2. My husband and I are looking to do a getaway sometime this fall and are thinking of Savannah (we live in Charleston, so it would be close!) Are there any couple, guy friendly things you recommend doing? I know we will squeeze in some shopping, however need to balance it out a little :o)

  3. Paris Market is my absolute favorite! I graduated from SCAD {way back when} and I love going back every year for a visit. A little Vinnie Van Gogo's and some shopping and I'm all set.

  4. Wow, the grilled Ceasar looks amazing! Our family visited Savannah & Tybee last year and had a great time. The locals were very warm, and the food was the best!

  5. I love Savannah, and now you've gone and made me long for a road trip. Its a bit easier for me now that baby boy lives there. Hmmm…maybe next weekend. I LOVE Byrd's Scotch Oatmeal too. those are my favorites…oh, and the key lime…and the black/white cookies…and of course the benne wafers. I always enjoy when you post about Savannah. I always learn about a new and fantastic place. Thanks to you, Papa's is one of our favorite little places to grab bbq. Oh, and that pic of CeCe…looking so presh, with a bandaid on her knee…to die for.
