Disney: Ohana + Magic Kingdom

We got back last night from an epic spring break adventure and it might take me weeks to catch up! The next month and a half until school is out are shaping up to be crazy busy (and fun too). So, bear with me as I find time to share our latest Disney travels!! We arrived in Disney late Friday evening and set up camp at Fort Wilderness with bestie M and her fam. Literally set up camp. As in tents. I will share ALL the details on that aspect of the trip soon. But, today I want to dish on our first full day spent in the Magic Kingdom!! We took our golf carts to the marina and caught a boat across Bay Lake around lunch time.

The first sight of the Magic Kingdom was just glorious!

And once inside, we were pleased to still do a ton of rides in spite of the spring break and Easter weekend crowds.

The new Magic Kingdom garden areas were just lovely.

We did dinner at Ohana for the first time and adored it!! We will definitely be back. The new lobby at the Polynesian was lovely and, I have to admit, I didn’t miss the water feature at all. (This coming from a girl whose parents raised her as a Poly die-hard. They’ve never stayed anywhere else in all of their visits.)

We arrived a little early and enjoyed lapu lapus in the Tambu Lounge. We did not arrive early enough to wait on Trader Sams. Next time for sure! Although, this cocktail was delish.

I love the photo bomber in this one showing off his pineapple…

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner – everything was fabulously yummy! The all-you-can-enjoy Polynesian eats are served family style and include skewers of chicken, shrimp and steak, as well as dumplings, veggies, noodles, salad, bread and dessert. Even our crew of five littles enjoyed the meal. And we also thoroughly enjoyed making Honey joining all of the kids celebrating their birthday that evening.

We took a boat back to the Magic Kingdom and then a second boat to Fort Wilderness. The sun was setting on our voyage and it was just magical!

We arrived back at the marina at Fort Wilderness to end our day with the Magic Kingdom fireworks and piped-in music. It just doesn’t get any better than this.

Stay tuned for our Disney Easter!

  1. You look awfully pretty for someone who was camping! I can't wait to hear all the details of this latest trip! I was a bit worried when we didn't get your regular updates Sunday and Monday!

  2. I can't believe that I passed you Lilly-wearing ladies in Adventureland on the Saturday before Easter and didn't recognize you! Your beautiful Lilly dresses caught my eye though :) Looks like you had a blast, we did too despite the major crowds.

We loved using our Mickey luggage tags, keeping the stroller one on permanently :) Thanks again!
