Adventure is Out There Part I {40×41}

It’s my half birthday today… an event that we strangely don’t celebrate given our penchant for random celebrations.  However, I wanted to mark the occasion today with an update on my Adventure is Out There {40×41} bucket list!

40X41

If you will recall, I spent my 39th birthday dreaming up a list of things I’d love to accomplish before the end of my 40th year.  The list is comprised of dreams, challenges, fears and silly fun.  Over the course of the last six months, I’ve checked 10 things off the list!  My math-minded self is pleased with that… I’ve completed exactly 25% of the items at exactly 25% into the noted time frame:

HIKED KENNESAW MOUNTAIN
FINISHED THE PEACHTREE ROAD RACE
ADOPTED A PUPPY
GOT MY HAIR BLOWN OUT
FINISHED THE GARAGE ORGANIZATION PROJECT
CELEBRATED HONEY’S 40TH BIRTHDAY
CAMPED OUT AT DISNEY
HAD A SPA DAY WITH BESTIES
DID DATE NIGHT AT THE STARLIGHT DRIVE IN
SHOT THE HOOCH

Check out my original post for an update!

The list has not been without its challenges.  Sadly, I’ve had to remove #25 Donate blood.  I went to the blood drive at work only to learn that I am not eligible for two reasons… 1. I don’t weigh enough and 2. I have a blood clotting issue.  I’ve also had to remove #40 Visit San Francisco.  Honey’s cousin is getting married there and we had grand plans to attend.  However, when he took a new job he lost out on some vacation time.  We were also already planning a west coast trip for early 2016 and when we started looking into prices we realized we really couldn’t afford flights for 4 to go across the country twice in a matter of a few months.  I am trying to figure out what to replace them with!!

It’s been such a FUN six months and I can’t recommend making a bucket list more.  Not only have we enjoyed planning the big items on the list, but we have used it to make plans when we find a random free Saturday.

Adventure IS out there!

xoxo

  1. Love hearing about your list, and the fact that you have accomplished so much already. Why not donate to the red cross somehow to replace the blood donation? I know it’s not the same as something “personal” but helps in the same way.

  2. You are really knocking out your list! I think Lauren’s idea for replacing your blood donation is wonderful! And I know you will come up with something perfect to replace the trip.

Can’t wait to see how the rest of your list unfolds! xo

  3. I love Lauren’s idea…you could also be one of the helpers who greet donors or serve the treats at the end since you are such a great hostess.

  4. I love that you have this bucket list! It’s so fun and you’ve accomplished so much so quickly. We keep a bucket list of things we’d love to do, places to go, etc. We also keep a seasonal bucket list. I try to keep them short so I can accomplish everything. I know you’ll find something to replace your items. I also love Lauren’s idea about doing something different to help the Red Cross. I’ve been a greeter, handed out snacks, helped get people signed in, etc. It was a really fun couple of days and I met a lot of people.

  5. Great idea to have a yearly bucket list, I have a life one which comprises of the fifty or so places that I want to visit but a yearly one is brilliant. That way you feel as though you have achieved something every year! Xx

  6. Fun to read! I have a Disney bucket list and working on a travel bucket list (we travel the world with our littles age 5.5 and 13mths) but need to write down a general bucket list or maybe combine them, not sure. Love your blog and glad you are feeling better!
