Go TECH!

Tech’s home opener was Saturday afternoon and we had our door decor up just in the nick of time!  Don’t miss the single solitary fall leaf there on the porch.  Could it be a harbinger of fall?  Nah.  Probably just a stray leaf.

It’s no easy feat to find cute Georgia Tech stuff.  I can assure you that I’ve searched every possible source for the last 22 years. HA!  This one, and nearly all of the rest of my door collection, are from the fabulous Bronwyn Hanahan Art.

I decked the dogs out in pom poms from a game giveaway, GT ribbon and a navy grosgrain accent.  If only I could get the real pup to wear ribbons and bows…

After starting the season in Ireland, we kicked off at home against Mercer.  It was a gorgeous but toasty day for fall football in the South.

Our seats are in the same row as Sisters, and have been since we started getting season tickets in 1998!

Of course the angel was absolutely precious in her gold and white.

I came across this picture from exactly seven year ago just this weekend.  Gosh, I sure do miss these babies.  It all just goes so fast.  Whit was 9 months old and John was a couple months shy of 4.  Some of our best friends in all the world own Baby Fans and kept these two dressed to the nines for all sports all year long when they were babies and toddlers.  I didn’t save many of their clothes, but these are two I did.  It’s hard to believe that in a couple of months those two babies will be 8 and 11.  Here’s to soaking up every day.

  1. It hard to believe it’s already football season – and it’s hard to believe how quickly little boys grow up, I know. ❤️ xo

  2. I have my Tech football out on Game Day too!! This week we were a house divided as I am a grad of Georgia Baptist School of Nursing which was absorbed by Mercer. However, I am cheering for Tech. As I told my cousin, Marvin’s Tech education has kept me quite comfortably for 40 years now!! I love the pictures of your boys in their Tech Rompers. So precious.

  3. Those babies! Absollutely beautiful! Yes, it goes by so, so fast. My best friend and I missed seeing her children young (now 22 & 29!) and got out the home movies, thinking it would be fun…but we started crying in the first few minutes because it made it even worse! ;-)

I LOVE how you added the pom poms to your porch dogs. They are such a welcoming pair, perhaps you should name them for each season….Georgia & Tech…Jingle & Belle, etc. Ha! And I love the lone leaf!

Miss CeeCee looks like the little ray of sunshine that she is! It is always fun to see her. <3 Happy football season! We're so excited!

  4. Amanda, time does go by fast! My 4 daughters are grown and I have 2 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. I was once told as a young mother: “The days go by slowly, but the years go by fast!”
And it is SO TRUE! In a blink of an eye, my husband and I have been married 35 years and we are grandparents. Cherish the memories you are creating as a young family. :)
BTW– love your blog and your video delights!!
