Magical Monday {Quintessentially Disney}

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Once in a lullaby

0001

Somewhere over the rainbow
Blue birds fly
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Dreams really do come true ooh oh

0060

Someday I’ll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me

0044

Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top
That’s where you’ll find me

wagner-0064

Oh, somewhere over the rainbow bluebirds fly
And the dream that you dare to,
Oh why, oh why can’t I?

0049

Well I see trees of green and red roses too,
I’ll watch them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

wagner-0066

Well I see skies of blue
And I see clouds of white
And the brightness of day

0047

I like the dark
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

0004

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people passing by

0069c

I see friends shaking hands
Singing, “How do you do?”
They’re really singing, “I, I love you.”

0013

I hear babies cry and I watch them grow,
They’ll learn much more than we’ll know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world world

0037

Someday I’ll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me

High above the chimney top
That’s where you’ll find me

Oh, somewhere over the rainbow way up high
And the dream that you dare to, why oh, why can’t I?

These pictures truly mean the world to me.  This is us in our happy place, our home away from home.

We hired Kimberly Mitchell of Portrayable Photography again this year.  I hadn’t really planned to do another photo session just a year after the first one, but hardly a day goes by that I don’t reminisce over the last set.   And, the littles grow and change so fast. And I really wanted quintessential Disney pictures with the monorail and balloon and ears before they outgrow all of that.   And they will only be little for such a little time.  And so we just did it and I can’t imagine I’ll ever regret it.

These were all taken at the Polynesian resort where we were staying.  I have so many memories from staying here as a child, and it is so special to have these photos of my own family so many years later enjoying the same place.

  1. Amanda, they are lovely, perfect captures of your family. You’re right – you won’t regret it. ? xo

  2. Your photos are beautiful and the song lyrics are the perfect match! I love that you get professional family photos done often. We have only had them done twice. Thanks for sharing your sweet family with us all!

  3. LOVE the pictures!!!! Last time we had dinner at the Polynesian my youngest was 5 and is now 23. We always laugh when we think how they awarded him a pineapple for most odd requested extra for dinner…Stephen wanted ketchup for his chicken fingers:)

  4. I love that you share your most special moments in the happiest place on earth wish us! Disney is truly magical. What a great idea to have professional pictures taken that captures magical moments of your beautiful family :) this makes me soooo happy!!!

  5. Your pictures are just lovely and those sweet boys… how could you ever regret extra pictures? I love your dress and I have to tell you I have been lusting after those shoes for over a year now!! Loved that you used 2 of my favorite songs to illustrate your family pictures?!!
Don’t forget you owe us a blog post on DVC?! Now that my own are grown (grandkids are a joy), I love peeking in on your darling family. And my kids used to tell me, “Mom, we don’t have to celebrate EVERYTHING!” “Yes, yes we do”???!

  6. Amazing photos….those sweet boys are growing so much. I started following your blog when Whit was just a little one. Time flies by Amanda …..enjoy every moment! ♥️
