Magical Monday {Disney’s Beach Club Resort & Villas}

UPDATED 2019:  Click here for a more current review of Beach Club.

Earlier this summer we had our first stay at the Disney’s Beach Club Resort & Villas.  We absolutely loved this resort and I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

The resort is done in a charming, New England style and has lovely sitting areas and gardens everywhere you look.

There are regular hotel room accommodations and club level rooms on the “resort” side.  We stayed on the “villas” side that have studios as well as 1- and 2- bedroom villas with full kitchens and home-like amenities.

Our room was located right off of the lobby space in the villas on the main floor and it was absolutely perfect for us!  It was convenient to food, the pool, transportation and community hall.

We were SO excited to see our first 1- bedroom villa on Disney property.  EEK!!  Right off of a little foyer with a table, mirror and full closet was the main living space.  We had a full kitchen, dining area and living room space with a pull out sofa bed for the boys.  There was also a patio off of this room.

How darling are these Flounder pillows?!?!

The bathroom in the villa was fabulous.  Disney calls this a split style bath.  In one room was a shower, sink and potty room accessible from the den and connecting to the other side of the bath via a door.

The other side had another sink, tub and closet.  This connected to the bedroom.

The bedroom had a king sized bed, chair, TV, desk and a second patio.

And, the villa rounded out with a washer and dryer that came in very handy with drying wet sneakers after rain storms.  HA!

Community Halls are one of our favorite parts of staying in a Disney villa.  Each of them has something different to offer, but the one at Beach Club had a pool table and TV.  We were right across the hall from it and my boys made really good use of it!  While Honey and I were getting ready to go to the park, they just came over here and played some billiards.  They were really thrilled with it!

The Beach Club is a sister resort to the Yacht Club, which I reviewed a couple of years ago in this post.  The two resorts are connected by Stormalong Bay, the absolutely fantastic sandy bottomed pool with slide, volleyball, lazy river and more!!  Since we all remembered how much we loved Stormalong Bay, we left plenty of time in our schedule to use it.

Stormalong Bay is now offering cabana rentals, which is wonderful!  Learn more here:

Here you can see the giant pirate themed slide from across the water.  It shoots you across the walkway into the big pool and is FUN!

As far as dining, we ate all of our breakfast and snacks in our room for the most part.  I did fall in love with the Cobb salad at the pool and always have to have at least one PinaColava on every trip.  :-)

There is a quick serve at Beach Club, but our favorite is the Beaches & Cream Soda Shop.  They offer a sit down meal as well as an ice cream takeaway line.  Mickey’s Kitchen Sink is a must-try :-)  We dined at Beaches & Cream on our stay at Yacht Club and enjoyed the food a lot.

Beach Club is also home to Cape May Cafe with a character breakfast featuring Donald, Goofy and Minnie.  We dined here on a previous trip and found the buffet food was VERY good in comparison to most of the others.  We loved the crepe station and chorizo sausage eggs in particular.

In addition to the main pool, our room opened up on to a quiet pool with a hot tub and pool table.  This was another favorite spot for the boys.  I spent most mornings having my coffee on our patio while they swam and did this!

Beach Club shares the Yacht Club marina and is just a short boat ride away to Hollywood Studios.  It is also a quick walk to Disney’s Boardwalk with more dining and entertainment.

Another key benefit of Beach Club is that our room was a 5 minute walk to the International Gateway in Epcot.  It puts you in the park right between England and France and opens up a “whole world” of dining and attractions!!

Other resorts in this area include Yacht Club and Boardwalk Inn – both of which are fabulous choices especially for trips with adults or older kids where Epcot and Hollywood Studios are key parks!

  1. Thank you so much for your awesome review! We will be staying at Beach Club in September and can’t wait. We stayed at Yacht Club years ago and loved it as well. The one bedroom villa looks like it made for a perfect trip.

    1. Yippeeeeee! You made a great choice!! We stayed at Yacht Club a few years ago and couldn’t wait to get back and try Beach Club.

  2. Beach Club is our favorite! (Well, it and the Polynesian.) The proximity to Epcot during F&W and the pool just can’t be beat. I also love the smell! Walter and Rosie has a candle that is spot on! I’m staying at AKL this fall and am trying to talk myself into being excited about it but BC is a hard act to follow!

    1. I love both BC and AKL!!! Heck, I love them all :-) I bought the candle from Spireside and LOVE it. I’ll be honest, I think Spireside scents are stronger than Walter and Rosie if you haven’t tried them.

  3. Love your Minnie cup! Where did you find it? We love Beach Club as well! Such a great resort! Have I missed your blog entry about DVC?

    1. Thank you! It’s here Danielle Jade https://www.daniellejadeg.com/. Sister gave it to me for Christmas. No, I never posted about it. I just didn’t know what more to write that someone else hasn’t written. I’m so sorry. If you have specific questions I am happy to answer. Email me!

  4. Thank you for your wonderful review. We have recently joined DVC, how many points do you recommend? We go often and i ám not sure if we have enough points.

    1. As many as you can get. HAHA! Seriously, it just varies so much by what room type and what time of year you travel. Where did you purchase?

  5. Your photos are just lovely!! We LOVE the Beach Club for its convenient location to Epcot and HS! Also it’s our DVC home base! Going back in November!

    1. AHHH lucky!!! If Honey would let me “collect” dvcs that one would be next on my list. HA!

  6. Thank you for sharing. We have a 1 bedroom Villa for November. We were supposed to go for Spring Break but had to reschedule because my hubby’s job pulled out of the state…..but his old company brought him back and we quickly rescheduled our trip. YAY! Now I am even more excited. We opted for the 1 bedroom suite having been spoiled during our Hilton Head Disney trip.

    1. You will absolutely adore it!! It is such a fabulous resort and that villa with all that space is just marvelous.
