A Savannah Christmas {Southern Porch Additions}

Mother and Daddy-O have been updating their house over the last year and when we arrived for Christmas last week we were just swooning over their new front and back porches!

Here is the before…  for years they have had trouble with the front door because it bears the brunt of the afternoon sun.  They had just repainted the house last year when this picture was taken.  The stucco is Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore and the door is Dovetail by Sherwin Williams.

And here’s how it looks with the new porch addition!  It adds so much curb appeal.  I absolutely love the brick detail of the stairs.

They also added on a screened porch off of the kitchen and we have SO enjoyed this during our stay – morning, noon and night!  They kept the original patio space and added this space in what was originally a flower bed and walkway.

Out here the floor is Dove Tail, the walls are Revere Pewter and the ceiling is Sea Salt.  Sister used the same Dove Tail and Sea Salt on her porch at the beach and the Revere Pewter is the same color as my exterior.

You can see here how she turned the original window here in the kitchen into french doors.  It is such a wonderful extension of their home.  You can also get a peek of her latest stray, “Watson”.  :-)  He seems to have adapted nicely to the good life indoors.  haha

I want to take more pictures of her decorations inside but there are literally humans and toys strewn over every visible surface.  ha

  1. Hi Amanda! Merry Christmas to you and yours. Love your posts and have a quick question. Would love to know the name of the manufacturer of your parent’s screened in porch. Love everything about it.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. PERFECTION!!!!! Both porches are spectacular!! It looks like “Mother and Daddy-O” put his surgery downtime to good use, planning every single detail of these projects. :-) I absolutely love this, especially the brick in the front and the addition of the French doors and pitched ceiling. Bravo!

    I’m sure the porch is already full of many wonderful memories.

  3. I have fallen in love with the front porch dogs. Is there a certain manufacturer for those? Thank you

    1. This is my mom’s house but I have some too and have for about 15 years! They were from a statuary place in Sandy Springs in Atlanta.
