On My Bedside {All the Missing Girls}

I absolutely loved All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda. It is dark, suspenseful enough, and a definite page turner.  I didn’t hate the lead “Nic” like I did in many of the other current books in this genre (Gone Girl, Girl on the Train, The Woman in Cabin 10).  In fact, I really liked her!  I wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy the way the story is told backwards, but it ended up being a pretty fascinating way to unravel the story.  It kept me guessing *almost* to the end, which I love.  Overall, I’d say to give this one a go!

Here’s the official synopsis:

It’s been ten years since Nicolette Farrell left her rural hometown after her best friend, Corinne, disappeared from Cooley Ridge without a trace. Back again to tie up loose ends and care for her ailing father, Nic is soon plunged into a shocking drama that reawakens Corinne’s case and breaks open old wounds long since stitched.

The decade-old investigation focused on Nic, her brother Daniel, boyfriend Tyler, and Corinne’s boyfriend Jackson. Since then, only Nic has left Cooley Ridge. Daniel and his wife, Laura, are expecting a baby; Jackson works at the town bar; and Tyler is dating Annaleise Carter, Nic’s younger neighbor and the group’s alibi the night Corinne disappeared. Then, within days of Nic’s return, Annaleise goes missing.

Told backwards—Day 15 to Day 1—from the time Annaleise goes missing, Nic works to unravel the truth about her younger neighbor’s disappearance, revealing shocking truths about her friends, her family, and what really happened to Corinne that night ten years ago.

Like nothing you’ve ever read before, All the Missing Girls delivers in all the right ways. With twists and turns that lead down dark alleys and dead ends, you may think you’re walking a familiar path, but then Megan Miranda turns it all upside down and inside out and leaves us wondering just how far we would be willing to go to protect those we love.

Thank you SO much to my friend Andie for popping this one in the mail after she finished it.  <3

Before I go, I want to announce the winner of my Christmas Jars book giveaway.  Congrats to Sherry B. for winning!!  Email me your address so that I send your book out.  I really enjoyed reading ALL of the ways that you share kindness and I got some great new ideas for my own family.  In fact, I had two freebie umbrellas that I was going to donate that are now in my car just waiting to surprise a stranger stuck in a rain storm :-)

I would love to know what is on YOUR bedside these days!

  1. Ah… this one is in my cart right now!

    I just finished The Red Queen (Philippa Gregory) and I’m currently reading The Color of Secrets – and I’m not really getting much from it. Hoping it picks up!

    Happy Friday! xo

      1. I really liked it! Now, I want to read The White Queen and The White Princess – they’re all historical fiction based on the Tudors and the Yorks. Fascinating.

  2. I am so glad you liked it!!! It certainly had a lot of unexpected twists & turns, that’s for sure!!!

    I have another one you might like I can drop to you if you haven’t read yet– “All the light we cannot see” — have you read that one yet?

  3. I have to admit that I’ve avoided reading this book. I was the only person I knew that hated Gone Girl. I thought all of the characters where horrible people. Very hard for me to read. After that I have avoided reading this author. However, since reading your review I many try this one. Thanks!
