Fall Halloween Appetizer & Dessert Centerpiece

We’ve had the most gorgeous fall weather the last couple of days so I was inspired to serve dinner on the porch.  This Halloween appetizer and dessert spread that plays double duty as your centerpiece!

I’ve been sharing all of my Halloween decor inside and out all month long.  You can take the full tour and find all of the sources starting here.

Easy Fall / Halloween Centerpiece

Now, the idea to use dessert as a centerpiece was originally born with my Spring Dessert – a pound cake spread.  It was such a hit with readers and my girlfriends that came to party that I decided to use it again for a summer soiree.  We’ve had a lot of adult-nights out lately so I decided to create a fall spread that was super kid friendly and something my boys would love to partake in.

The board itself is from Home Depot and is an inexpensive piece of pine, already sized at the perfect length for my table.  I decided to forego purchasing flowers this time and use the mini-pumpkins I already had on hand.  I figure they won’t see much daylight once Christmas starts going up.  (If you’re new here, I decorate early.)

For each of these seasonal parties, I have made one item and purchased everything else.  Well, for this one I didn’t make a single thing.  It literally could not be easier!

I went with a colorful assortment of meats, cheese, crackers, fruits, nuts and sweets.  I added clip on spiders from my stash to go with the Halloween theme.

Here are the items I used:

  • blackberries
  • praline pecans (Trader Joes)
  • fig butter (Trader Joes)
  • smoked gouda
  • white cheddar
  • crackers
  • ghost chips (Trader Joes)
  • Halloween oreos (Trader Joes)
  • green grapes
  • salami assortment
  • chocolate mousse pumpkins (Trader Joes)

You can see all the details from my Spring Party here!

And my Patriotic Summer Party here.

It was a fun evening with my favorite people.  We wrapped our night off with a fire and a few games of Jenga.

Happy Halloween!

    1. No, I didn’t. I just clean it before and after use with water and dish soap and let it dry well before storing.

    1. Hi Tania, The first time I used it I put raspberries down on it directly and they did stain it. Now I use small dishes for anything like that. BUT, I usually fill it with so much stuff that I don’t worry too much about it. I don’t have a whole lot invested in the board. :-) Amanda
