Liberty Tree Tavern in Disney’s Magic Kingdom

I can’t believe it took us this long, but we finally dined at Liberty Tree Tavern in Disney’s Magic Kingdom.  And, we LOVED it!  It quickly went to near the top of our list for table serve dining in this park.  The restaurant is located in Liberty Square and it is relatively easy to make a reservation.

The colonial-style inn is perfectly suited for this location in the park, and absolutely reminded us of the taverns in Williamsburg.  We were quickly seated, and the service was excellent.

Lunch is served a la carte.  We started with a warm cheese dip that was a special this fall.  It was SO incredibly good!

Honey and Whit both dined on the cheeseburger and said it was very good.

I was ready for something green by this point in the trip and loved the Colony Salad.  It was hearty and I didn’t come close to finishing it.  In addition to grilled chicken, it had apples, sweet pecans, applewood-smoked cheddar, and dried cranberries.

Not pictured: John’s fish and chips and the ooey gooey toffee cake that we shared four ways.  Yum!

If you go…

  • Liberty Tree Tavern takes one credit on the Disney Dining Plan at both lunch and dinner.
  • Reservations are accepted and recommended.  However, I have walked by many times when they were standing outside with menus to fill tables.
  • While lunch is served a la carte, dinner is a family style Thanksgiving feast – every day of the year!

I don’t love the table serve dining options in Magic Kingdom. In fact, it is my least favorite of all parks.  Outside of Cinderella’s Royal Table (not needed in this family), our favorites are Skipper Canteen and now Liberty Tree Tavern.  I feel like I can now recommend 3 solid options!

  1. sooo glad you loved liberty tree!

mk dining has typically been lackluster for us too. but! in addition to several yummy new plant-based options (amazing vegan burger!) at pecos bill, i noticed on our way out yesterday that casey’s is now offering a vegetarian hot dog. that is HUGE and i’m so happy! :)

  2. Love the Liberty Tavern! A welcome respite from the summer sun and dependable dining options.

PS….did I miss the master bathroom curtains reveal?

  3. Our fave is Skippers Canteen. We also actually liked Tony’s pretty well (especially considering the not so great quick service options). Have you tried the Plaza? It’s on our list, looks ok online?

    1. Yes, I like the Plaza. It is probably my #3 after Skipper and Liberty. It is so tiny that it is hard to get in at a normal dining time!

  4. You didn’t mention Be our Guest Restaurant. Is it at the top of your list? Thank you, your suggestions are always great.

    1. Good catch! Be Our Guest is top for quick serve. I was listing my favorite table serve in this one! I haven’t been to Be Our Guest for dinner since they changed to a price fixe menu and two credits on the Disney Dining Plan and I haven’t had a single client request for it either.

  5. This is one of our favorites in ALL of the parks. It’s a little nostalgic for me because we ate here on the last trip with my stepdad before he passed, but we’ve never had anything bad. It’s always so yummy!
