Hotel Home | Dixie Delights Review

My clients LOVED everything about the Hermitage Hotel for their Nashville girls trip – from the luxury service, to the well appointed rooms to the fabulous location.  My family stayed here too when we visited Nashville and echoed their sentiments on all accounts!

The Roosevelt in New Orleans, Louisiana

Hotel Home

I sent a group here in two rooms for a bachelorette party!  They reported back on a wonderful stay in the heart of New Orleans.  I have visited the Sazerac Bar and toured the gorgeous lobby when visiting bestie R, but have not had the pleasure of staying at The Roosevelt.

Steps from the BEST OF NEW ORLEANS The Roosevelt stands in the same place it has for more than 100 years, at the heart of all the history, cuisine, entertainment and culture that made New Orleans famous. Just past the hotel’s magnificent brass doors are the narrow streets and old-world charm of the French Quarter. Stroll along the shop-lined sidewalks of Royal Street. Immerse yourself in the constant buzz of activity at Jackson Square. Let your ears take you from one club to the next as you soak in a wealth of musical stylings at Preservation Hall or on Frenchmen Street.   With the St. Charles and Canal streetcar lines within blocks of The Roosevelt, the rest of New Orleans is just a few stops away. Walk amongst the centuries-old live oaks of City Park or marvel at the majestic homes of the historic Garden District. When you stay at The Roosevelt, all of New Orleans is yours to explore.

  • Best available rate

  • Daily Breakfast for two in Teddy’s Cafe or Fountain Lounge

The Whitley in Atlanta, Georgia

Hotel Home

I might as well round out this installment with another girls trip while I’m on a roll.  I loved helping two college friends plan their meet up in my home of Atlanta!  The Whitley was formally the Ritz Buckhead and is a wonderful location in proximity to some of the city’s best shopping and dining.  I personally enjoyed my own stay-cations here with my girlfriends!

At The Whitley, you will enjoy one of the most celebrated addresses in Atlanta’s most exclusive district, a luxurious starting point from which to access the city’s best shopping, dining and entertainment. The Whitley’s spacious bedrooms reflect a modern lifestyle, and the suites offer bay-window views of the city skyline. The hotel features the intimate Spa, Spa Lounge with concierge and Spa Boutique. In September 2017, the hotel opened its new bar and restaurant, sourcing the finest ingredients to delight you with an extraordinary, global dining experience.

  1. Amanda,
We stayed at the Roosevelt and loved it when we where in NOLA. I will have to check out the Salamander since I live in central VA for a future girls trip. May I also add if any of your clients want a classic, timeless and elegant resort you might suggest the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV or the Homestead in Hot Springs, VA. They are both beautiful!

  2. We LOVED the stay you booked for us at The Cloister. The boys ask to return every vacation. If we do go back, we will definitely book it through you, as the complimentary breakfasts and resort credit really added up! Thank you!

  3. We’ve never booked a trip with a travel agent – can you tell us how it works, and how it compares price wise to booking travel yourself? I’ve enjoyed researching and booking our family trips over the last 15 year or so, but I am ready to turn over the reins to someone else. I have visions of just showing up and enjoying a vacation like a tourist instead of working like the event coordinator for once. But my one foray into travel agent travel through a company travel program was a huge disappointment (I was able to save almost 2k over their proposal just doing half an hour of research online, and they were unable to find tickets to a show I wanted to see which I was able to snag myself without too much trouble! Really disappointing!).

    1. Hi Brandi, I don’t know for certain how all travel agents work, but I can explain more about me. Outside of Disney World and Disneyland, I really only work with Virtuoso designated properties unless a client comes to me with a specific location or resort they know they want. Virtuoso hotels and resorts have all be vetted and I can book clients at these destinations without worrying whether or not they will have a great time and exceptional service. I get the best available rate for these properties, as well as extra amenities so it is really a no-brainer. My clients usually still plan their own days/itineraries unless it is somewhere I have personally been and can help with suggestions. There is no fee for this and I earn a very small commission from the hotel that basically covers a couple of hours of my time. I also help clients with full itineraries. Depending on where they are going and the level of my involvement, this can be anywhere from free to $250 plus $50/day. I will share a trip I planned like this soon, but it included everything from transfers and hotels to private tour guides and admission to key experiences. All of that does add up when you are looking at the bulk of your entire trip cost in one line item, but it is a wonderful way to travel without having to invest a lot of your own time. It is also nice to know up front what you are in for. In my experience, the very best way to travel as just a tourist that shows up with a bag is through small group travel. Adventures by Disney is absolutely phenomenal for this. Again, you will likely pay 10-15% more (based on my own personal calculations), but every single thing is already done for you and you know you will have a VIP experience the entire time. When I went to Germany I had not even looked at the itinerary until I was on the plane. As far as the travel agent through a company, I can’t speak much to that other than I know at Coke we were contracted to work with certain places at certain rates. If a client of mine wanted tickets to a show, I would have certain channels I could go through. I hope that makes sense and helps! Amanda
