Have Mercy Crosses

I’ve looked for a long time for the perfect thing for our front door in those winter weeks between Christmas and Valentine’s Day. When I saw gorgeous crosses gracing the doors of two of my most big-hearted friends, I was in love. I knew then and there that I wanted a Have Mercy for my January door.

I chose “peace” and requested that the owner/artist, Elizabeth Warner, add turquoise and tan to the typically all white cross. I love the white and gold for winter.

I also gave two smaller Have Mercy crosses as gifts this season to two special friends. I chose Hallelujah for one and Hope for the other, based on things happening in their lives. One sent me a picture of hers hanging in her home just yesterday!

In life, we all have our highs and lows- graduations, weddings, births, illness, loss, friendship, celebrations… the list is long in both directions. Very often, we send cards or flowers at these important times- why not send a cross too? This thought became the premise behind how we have grown. It is truly a joy for me to hear the many stories of when and why our Have Mercy products are given and received. They always remind me that there is meaning behind the strokes of my brush that go far beyond the four walls of my studio. With these products- we hope to continue to offer original works of art that “speak” to our customers. The one of a kind nature of all of our products makes each unique and special.

As far as the rest goes, I planted white violas in my pots this past weekend. The weather was absolutely stunning. I told Honey it felt more like the 10th day of Spring than the 10th day of Christmas!

I also have a new door hanger for the garage entry, thanks to a sweet friend! I tied a black and white gingham ribbon to it, and did more violas in place of the mum.

If you’re in the Southeast, I hope that you enjoyed the marvelous weekend weather! I’ll be back in a few days with another Have Mercy cross that I can’t wait to share. :-)

  1. Looked on Have Mercy Crosses website..did not see any crosses like yours to buy…was this a special order? How much was it? Really pretty…I was just thinking what to put on my front door..thank you for sharing!

    1. Hi, Mine is the Peace cross. When you click on the crosses, you will see all the sizes and prices. I just asked that she add turquoise to mine, it is normally all white and gold.

  2. Thank you for this post. I love the crosses and can think of a few friends who would, too. Here in New Orleans we have Mardi Gras decorations up for now, but the cross could be year-round, indoors or out.

  3. Love the cross on your front door. Do you know if she ships, as I don’t live in your area. We buried our beautiful mother yesterday, and I would like to order a few for my sisters….we are all heart broken. Thank you.

    1. Oh, I am so so sorry to hear that. I am sure that you are devastated. She does ship – I had her ship mine. Love and hugs!
