Winter Foyer

As promised when I shared our January entry with the beautiful Have Mercy Peace Cross door hanger, I am back today with a peek inside the foyer!

Here you can see how the exterior is just a preview of what’s to come inside.

I have taken down the tiered burlap skirt I use from Halloween to Christmas and replaced it with this beautiful box pleated skirt that I use the rest of the year.

I hung my small, matching Have Mercy Cross on my boxwood wreath and propped it up on a book. My entry table is quite narrow, but I can usually find a few nice things that fit.

I do use a lot of black throughout my home. I prefer lighter colors overall, especially since my ceilings are low and my rooms can get dark, but black helps ground things and adds interest. In the foyer alone, the door, canes, stairs and frames reflected from the living room are all tied together with black!

It wouldn’t be a home decor post without sharing Elsa. My baby is always underfoot.

I hope you are having a very happy hump day! Thanks for coming by today. <3

  1. That Mary Poppins umbrella!! 😍 I need that in my new home of Seattle— although I think ATL has had more rain than we have.

  2. Your Have Mercy Cross is so beautiful on the boxwood wreath! After taking down all the Christmas décor, I like to do a more simple winter décor and tend to use more white to brighten up the long, darker winter days. I left my pair of white reindeer out but have switched out the bows around their necks to a Valentine pattern. Yes, I am already thinking ahead of the game…lol.
