The Delightful Home {Boys Bathroom}

At long last, I have taken pictures of the boys’ finished bathroom. This is the smallest, darkest space in our house and I am no professional photographer, so bear with me on the amateur images. :-)

I always like to start these posts with the before. This was how the room looked on move-in day. The bathroom shower wasn’t functional so it was really only used for the sink and toilet.

Here is the same little space now!

The current layout of this bathroom was functional, so we didn’t need to move any plumbing which saved a good deal of money. For the vanity, and again for cost reasons, I purchased one rather than going custom.

It did come with a marble top, so I usually keep this organizer from Target for the boys’ to store their things. I just tucked it under the sink for these photos.

Speaking of under the sink, my contractors had to do a little bit of work to fit our old plumbing set up. There is still plenty of usable storage space.

I chose chrome fixtures in here for a more modern look, and went with squared off, clean lines on the sink and shower fixtures.

We put the new light in ten years ago and it still looked great so that didn’t change. I did have a good deal of trouble finding a mirror to fit this space. Most were way too small and this one is a little too big, but it works. It definitely makes the space feel larger and will be tall enough for the boys to be able to see themselves as they keep growing. (The options that fit the space would have had them stooping down in a year or two!)

After an Instagram poll, I did hooks rather than a towel bar and I am so pleased with the choice! The towels don’t always end up on them, but they are decent about it. They dry out so much faster than when I had them crammed on bars.

I used the same tile for both the wet and dry spaces on the floor. The room is just too small to mix it up like we did in the master.

The glass shower door is one of my favorite parts, especially after having that atrocious accordion door! Taking the shower curtain out also makes the room seem so much larger.

I went with a textured white subway tile and white grout from floor to ceiling in the shower. It looks clean and fresh, and so far we’ve had no issues keeping everything bright white.

While I love the master bathroom more than any room in the house, getting the boys OUT of our bathroom and into their own has been equally as satisfying.

I’ve shared all of the selections below…
