Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

Updated HERE 2022

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is one of my favorite deluxe resorts with an amazing location in walking and boat distance of Epcot and Hollywood Studios, access to incredible dining, gorgeous rooms, the best pool on property, and loads of resort amenities!

The front of the resort is charming, but it is really the back side facing Crescent Lake and Disney’s BoardWalk that is so gorgeous!

The Yacht Club is meticulously manicured and well appointed.  I have read reviews that it is stuffy and not as kid friendly as other resorts and I have to say neither of those is true.

Yacht Club Resort Accommodations

All of the guest rooms were renovated from top to bottom in 2018. They are stunning! They thought of every detail in the renovation, like keurig coffee makers, huge HD tvs, raised beds for luggage storage, wood floors, modern bathrooms and reading lights in the headboards.

King Room

This is a corner king room. It is huge with fresh, modern decor and nods to the nautical theming of the resort.

Two Queen Room

The two queen room has a sleeper sofa as well to house five. Most have beautiful views of the resort courtyards, pools and BoardWalk.

The view from our room was just amazing.  We had the doors open whenever we were in there and used the grassy lawn and boardwalk as an extension of our “living” space.  The boys loved throwing the football out here and playing cornhole on the boardwalk outside of the Bayside Marina.  Honey and I adored sitting here with a book and just soaking it all in.  We also had a good view of Illuminations from Epcot right from our patio!

In addition to regular resort rooms and concierge rooms, Yacht Club is home to multiple first-class suites!

Pools at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

In my opinion, enjoying the Disney resorts is something guests should allow time for in their itinerary. All are wonderful, and each has unique offerings from pools, to activities to dining. Whenever possible, I advise my clients to build in time – or even a day – to enjoy all of these things!

Stormalong Bay is hands down the most incredible pool in Disney!  It is shared between the Beach Club and Yacht Club and they are very strict about only allowing resort guests in.  There is a (very) lazy river, volleyball, awesome slide, three hot tubs AND sandy bottom zero entry pools!!!!

Stormalong Bay is now offering cabana rentals, which is wonderful!  Learn more here:

There is plenty of seating on the sandy beaches!

The fun, fast and TALL waterslide is water park worthy!  I can’t count how many times the four of us did it!

There is also a quiet pool at Yacht Club that was quite close to our room.  We only dipped our toes in one morning while our room was being cleaned because, let’s face it, it couldn’t hold a candle to Stormalong Bay :-)

Dining at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

I think I’ve covered all of the onsite dining at Yacht Club (and some Beach Club) during my two stays.  In addition to on-site options, you have all of the BoardWalk dining and easy access to Epcot.

Ale and Compass

The Ale and Compass Lounge is charming and upscale in feel, with a variety of wines, beers, cocktails and bites.

Right next door is the table-serve Ale and Compass restaurant. This is a favorite of mine, as well as among my clients. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, but lunch and dinner are my favorites.

Hurricane Hanna’s

Hurricane Hanna’s at Stormalong Bay has a small but decent menu. You can belly up to the bar, dine at one of the reserved tables, or take your food back to your lounge chair!

Beaches and Cream

We had a lively dinner at Beaches & Cream.  I’d definitely recommend going, and would also recommend having a reservation.  It was SUPER yummy and we all enjoyed our food (burgers, chili and grilled cheese).  The highlight is absolutely the Kitchen Sink ice cream dessert to share between four people!  In addition to the restaurant area, there is also a walk up ice cream counter, now serving amazing “freak-shake” milkshakes.

Crews Cup Lounge and Yachtsman Steakhouse

Over the years, we have enjoyed a few amazing nights out at the Crews Cup Lounge, along with dinner at the Yachtsman Steakhouse.

The bread was super yummy, the steaks were perfection and I loved the truffle mac & cheese. Yachtsman has one of the best steaks on property, in my opinion.

The Market at Ale & Compass

During the massive resort renovation, a quick serve dining location was added. The Market at Ale & Compass is beautifully themed and has a great variety of delicious options for every meal of the day.

Cape May Cafe

Technically located at Beach Club, we walked over to Cape May Cafe for the character breakfast one morning, with Donald, Goofy and Minnie.  The buffet food was VERY good in comparison to most of the others.  We loved the crepe station and chorizo sausage eggs in particular.

Recreation at the Yacht Club Resort

One of the highlights of our stay at Yacht Club was renting two mini water mice from Bayside Marina.  You have to be 12 to drive and they seat up to two people.  This was such a fun location to rent them because of all there is to see around Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Swan & Dolphin AND Hollywood Studios.  We tooled right alongside the Friendship Boats and loved getting up close and personal to Hollywood Studios.

Like all Disney resorts, Yacht Club had a bonfire and movie under the stars each night!  We always try to see at least one during our stay.  This one was particularly lovely on the sandy beach with all the lights in the background.

I was beyond excited when the kids begged to get a Surrey bike. They were not old enough to pedal, but that didn’t damper our fun in the least. It’s a fun, albeit exhausting, way to explore the BoardWalk.

DSC02336

There is so much to do on the Boardwalk!  We loved walking over for food.  And margaritas.

You really cannot beat the location of the Yacht Club.  It is a 5 minute walk or boat ride into Epcot via a (special entrance called International Gateway between Paris and Great Britain, and a 5 minute boat ride to Hollywood Studios.  There are loads of restaurants and recreation between the Yacht Club, Beach Club and Boardwalk.  It’s just really an outstanding location!
