Monsieur Paul Signature Dining in Epcot

Over Spring Break, Honey and I stole away for a night to enjoy a gourment dinner at the magical Monsieur Paul restaurant. Located in the France pavilion of the World Showcase in Epcot, Monsieur Paul is hidden above the Chefs de France restaurant and is one of the most memorable meals we’ve had at Disney.

Before dinner, we took a quick walk around the World Showcase. It had just rained and everything was so beautiful. Epcot is fun with kids in tow, but even more spectacular without them.

You enter the restaurant from the back part of the pavilion under the black awning. After check-in, a host escorts you up the winding staircase.

We were seated at a lovely table right beside a window overlooking the World Showcase. We were smitten from the start! This was the closest experience we have had to Club 33 since our visit there for my 40th birthday. It is almost surreal to be in such a nice restaurant overlooking the hubbub of the park below.

We started with wine and bread, both of which were perfect.

There are two price fixe options, as well as a regular menu. We carefully considered all three before deciding that the two most attractive entrees were not on the price fixe menus. I had the Black Sea Bass in Potato Scales, Rosemary Sauce, and Endive Gratin. It was the most beautiful fish I’d ever eaten and absolutely phenomenal. I managed to give up just one bite for Honey to try it. :-)

He went with the Seared Halibut and said it was every bit as good as mine. It was served with Leek Fondue, Mashed Potatoes with Squid Ink, and Fish Veloute.

For dessert, we couldn’t resist the Milk Chocolate Sphere. It is chocolate almond cake, praline and chocolate cream, light hazelnut biscuit with chocolate ice cream, warm chocolate, and Cognac sauce. The warm sauce is poured over the chocolate sphere table side and you watch the whole thing collapse in chocolate-y goodness. It was delicious and we ate every bite. All of this as we watched the sun set over Epcot. <3

If you go:

  • The Disney Dining Plan is accepted here and it is 2 credits per meal.
  • The restaurant is only open at dinner.
  • Children are welcome to dine here, but it is also a wonderful choice for a Disney date night.
  • Most of the tables by the windows were for 2. You may wish to arrive early and request one of these for wonderful views.
  • Dining reservations should be made 180 days in advance, or as early as possible.
  • There is a dress code for this restaurant. No tank tops, flip flops, hats, cutoffs, etc. are permitted.

Le Cellier is our family’s favorite for signature dining in Epcot, but Monsieur Paul take the top spot for a romantic dinner for two.

  1. This restaurant sounds great but I had to smile when you said the dress code was no flipflops! Aren’t those one of your favorites? Hopefully the meal was worth changing out of the flipflops!
