The Wave restaurant at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a hidden gem, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and with a great little lounge area for cocktails. While I enjoy the decor in both lounge spaces, the dining room itself is nothing to write home about. However, the food is great!
The only meal we have done sit-down here is breakfast. It is very easy to get a reservation, the food is great and it is relatively inexpensive. There are both buffet and a la carte options, and we dined a la carte. I ordered the Avocado Toast with the eggs scrambled on the side (for $10!!!) and LOVED every bite. Other family members had the Egg White Frittata, American Breakfast and Sweet Potato Pancakes. Everything was delicious and nothing was more than $15, which is very close to what you’d pay at quick serve.
Honey and I have been a few times to meet friends or just as a couple for drinks. There are two lounge areas and we like both of them a lot! The Bay Lake Sunset Cocktail is a favorite!
If you go:
- The Disney Dining Plan is accepted here and it is 1 credit per meal. For breakfast, I would just pay out of pocket.
- While I do really like The Wave, I would not necessarily make a special trip to eat here. It is great for guests staying at Bay Lake Tower or Contemporary that don’t care for the fuss of Chef Mickey’s.
- Dining reservations are plentiful and easy to get, even for large groups.

Yes! I have heard dinner is great there too. We loved breakfast. I mean $10 avocado toast with eggs does not exist anywhere. :-)
