Week 4 {A Kitchen Update}

The kitchen is complete! We, of course, need to paint and put the decor back but the project itself is done.

The last piece was the tile. I wanted something similar to what we used in the showers upstairs but the scale of it was too large. This was the perfect solution! We only have a tiny bit of backsplash, but it does make a difference in brightening everything up.

I’ll leave you with an image of bad doggy. I told Whit she wanted to be a construction dog. He said “more like a destruction dog.” He’s really a funny kid!

I can’t wait to share the fully painted (walls) and finished space. Work has been a BEAST this week and the boys have had lots of things keeping me busy. Ten years ago Daddy-O told me to “stop and enjoy summer because you only get so many”. That was sound advice that I’ve repeated to myself many, many times. The curtains will get hung… sometime… and I’ll share the finished kitchen… one day (soon). <3

  1. Amanda,

    I love your kitchen.
    I am in the process of a kitchen renovation as well and have taken a lot of inspiration from your choices.
    What size is your backsplash tile?

    You have amazing style.

    Kind regards,
    Rebecca

  2. Wow! It’s so much brighter and I never thought of your kitchen as dark. It’s amazing what a difference these changes made, yet it looks like it was always meant to look like this. It’s classic and lovely, just like the rest of your home. What did you decide on paint color for the walls?

  3. The summers (and years) go by so fast… you’re choosing the best things! Everything looks so clean and bright! xo

  4. Everything came out beautiful! What I love about white kitchens is that they are neutral and can be brightened up with dishes, etc. Our A/C is about to go out so now our kitchen renovation is on hold. WAHHH!!! So I’m living vicariously through you. :)
