On My Bedside {The Last Mrs. Parrish}

I did a LOT of reading while in Alaska! I shared The Storyteller’s Secret by Sejal Badani a few weeks back and today I’m dishing on The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine. This was an engaging psychological thriller, full of twists and turns and a clever ending. If you love Gone Girl and Girl on the Train, this one is a great choice.

Amber Patterson is fed up. She’s tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more—a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted.
To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne—a socialite and philanthropist—and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale.
Amber’s envy could eat her alive . . . if she didn’t have a plan. Amber uses Daphne’s compassion and caring to insinuate herself into the family’s life—the first step in a meticulous scheme to undermine her. Before long, Amber is Daphne’s closest confidante, traveling to Europe with the Parrishes and their lovely young daughters, and growing closer to Jackson. But a skeleton from her past may undermine everything that Amber has worked towards, and if it is discovered, her well-laid plan may fall to pieces.

I’ve got When We Left Havana on my bedside already. It’s such a great story that I’m reading it slowly to help make it last. What are you reading??

  1. That sounds good! I currently don’t have anything… besides a high school sociology textbook. 😀 xo

  2. We read this in my book club in the spring and everyone loved it! It would make a super fun movie. I’m hosting book club in October. Do you have any book suggestions that would be a fun Halloween/spooky/thriller read? I haven’t picked a book yet and I thought it would be fun to do a spooky or thriller type and then decorate my house accordingly. Any suggestions?

    1. I don’t have an idea off the top of my head, but I LOVE that idea and want to hear what you pick!!

  3. I’m reading “Just Between Us” by Rebecca Drake. It’s good! Almost finished with it and can’t wait to see the ending!!
