Frozen II

In a selfless act, Honey and Whit agreed to go with me to see Frozen II last night. :-) When I asked at dinner Friday evening, it was crickets. Anyone? Hello? Honey took one for the team and said “I’ll go!” Whit said he’d go if we went to the theater with good chairs. John said he would “strongly pass under all conditions”. I promptly bought the tickets at said theater before anyone could change their mind. Ha!

If you haven’t seen the movie, now is the time to leave this post. You definitely don’t want to scroll down as there is a spoiler picture.

Let’s discuss..

First, I absolutely loved Frozen and wanted to see it again as soon as the credits rolled. I was so enamored by the music and the heartfelt surprise at the end.

Frozen II was good, but didn’t live up, in my honest opinion. The music just didn’t captivate me like in the first one. I thought the story was good and I thought Elsa ended up where she belongs. Olaf stole the show and was really the highlight for me. I also loved the beginning with young Anna and Elsa. I was left with so many questions about the fifth dimension and thought they just breezed right past those details to quickly wrap up the movie.

One thing I really loved was all of their outfit changes!! If you’re curious, they are now meeting in Epcot in new Frozen II gowns!!! If you haven’t seen the movie, don’t scroll down as these are major spoilers.

Eek!! Don’t you love them?! These pictures are courtesy of another agent who was in the park the day the debuted. She was sweet to share with a large group to use with their clients. I am sure Frozen II is going to really boost interest in meeting the sisters in Epcot, Olaf in Hollywood Studios and wait times for the Frozen attractions in both times.

If you’ve seen Frozen II, I’d love to know your thoughts!

  1. Pretty much felt the same as you – cute movie but not as good as the first! No ‘Let it Go’ type song and I felt like there were more questions than answers in the end. But yay for the upcoming wedding – finally!

  2. My four-year-old granddaughter and her almost 40-year-old mother were enchanted. My granddaughter insists that we be first in line when the DVD goes on sale. I’ll wait until then to offer my opinion. Is your puppy insisting on a sister named Elsa II?

  3. Only okay. Was missing adorable/inspirational songs. Bonus: the child behind us referred to Elsa as “Female Ice Jesus.” Classic.

  4. I couldn’t agree with you more!! The whole fifth dimension thing really confused me, especially with their mother’s spirit showing up. And I thought they tried too hard with the music, as if they’re trying to replicate the success of the music for Frozen. And poor Kristoff with his solo; my girlfriend said it looked like a bad 80’s video. I did find the animation and cinematography (is that the right word on an animated movie) to be absolutely amazing. Overall I liked it, but it was nowhere near as good as the original.

  5. My teenage daughter LOVED it and felt like it was really targeted well to her generation-who were the perfect age of little girls when the original Frozen was released. She really enjoyed the music and the messages; she especially got a kick out of Kristoff’s song (which I found so awkward)!
