On My Bedside {Behind Closed Doors}

I am SO excited to share this book with y’all – Behind Closed Doors is one of the most thrilling, twisted, disturbing, page turner I’ve read in a LONG time. I want to stress the “disturbing” parts as there were certainly a couple of times when I thought I can’t keep reading this. Yet, there I was turning the pages night after night. If you enjoy a psychological thriller, add this one to your stack.

Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace. He has looks and wealth; she has charm and elegance. He’s a dedicated attorney who has never lost a case; she is a flawless homemaker, a masterful gardener and cook, and dotes on her disabled younger sister. Though they are still newlyweds, they seem to have it all. You might not want to like them, but you do. You’re hopelessly charmed by the ease and comfort of their home, by the graciousness of the dinner parties they throw. You’d like to get to know Grace better.

But it’s difficult, because you realize Jack and Grace are inseparable.

Some might call this true love. Others might wonder why Grace never answers the phone. Or why she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn’t work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. Or why she never seems to take anything with her when she leaves the house, not even a pen. Or why there are such high-security metal shutters on all the downstairs windows.

Some might wonder what’s really going on once the dinner party is over, and the front door has closed.

I did a lot of reading over the holidays and can’t wait to share a few others with you! Right now I’m on The Wife Between Us.

  1. I love when I have a book that makes it so I “can’t hardly wait” to get back to sit down with it.

    Recently “The Gifted School” – wow! Kind of “Big Little Lies” , 3rd person. Group dynamics of friends, competition. Thick but quick read.

    “The Most Fun We Ever Had” – character driven, family story over /between decades.

    “Dutch House” is next for me

  2. Oh Amanda, thanks for the suggestion. I am always looking for a good book. Right now I am reading Jojo Moyes book about the mountain librarians in Kentucky in the 1930s. So far so good but I like a good page turner every now and then.

  3. Just ordered this one yesterday – it sounds so good! I just finished Outlander (yes, again, again) and have just cracked open Underground Railroad. Very excited about this one! xo

  4. This book was good and the ending is so rewarding. This book gives you creeps, I read this over a year ago and I still think about it!
