Remembering New Orleans {Hazelnut Decoupage Trays}

No trip to New Orleans is complete without a stop in Hazelnut! Ron (Uptown Acorn) and I spent an afternoon lunching and shopping and I knew I’d be bringing home my NOLA souvenirs from here before we ever even stepped foot inside. :-) I have collected my Alison Evans oyster plates from Hazelnut visits over the years and was ready to start something new.

I have eyed their decoupage trays for years and ended up choosing three different coastal birds. I absolutely love how they look in my den! I also picked up the gold turtle shells. My usual souvenir is a Christmas ornament, but I couldn’t resist these stunning and memorable additions to our home.

Now, the bad thing about shopping with Ron is he not only thinks you should buy everything but that you at least need two of everything. It’s been a running joke for years.

New Orleans was the last non-Disney trip we took before covid and we still fondly and often talk about all the fun, adventurous, memorable things we experienced, ate, explored and did. Always take the trip. Laissez les bon temps rouler. <3

I’m working on an updated peek at our den for fall, but you can see my current home tour HERE! Today we picked up a laptop for one and cello for the other, I got my hair cut, and we are going to pick up dinner at a new place in town. I had more places to go than on any single day since March!

  1. Where did you get the picture frames beside the turtle shells? I am on the hunt for that style of picture frame for some vintage postcards I have. Thanks!
