Yum-O Virtual Cooking Camp for Kids

In lieu of today’s traditional Sunday Supper, I thought I’d share the virtual cooking camp that Whit has been attending daily! It’s headed up by Rachel Ray, is completely free, targeted at ages 8 – 15 years, and happens daily from today through August 14. We started July 30 and have had so much fun! I’ve been Whit’s sous chef, helping get things ready and assisting as needed.

This interactive online cooking camp will bring kids and their families into the kitchen with their favorite culinary stars and celebrity guests – live, everyday for a summer program you won’t want to miss!

Each day at 2PM on Zoom, a different celebrity chef walks young cooks through making a favorite recipe. You pre-register for any (or all) sessions online in advance. Then, a few days in advance of each class you will receive an email with the recipe, supplies and any pre-work, as well as a link to register for the Zoom.

So far we’ve made BBQ Chicken Pizzas and Very Berry Cobbler with Rachel Ray. The pizzas were a HUGE hit!

And we’ve also done Real Mac & Cheese with Bobby Flay, which was delicious!

At this very moment, Whit is making Fudge with Duff Goldman while I sit at the counter writing this post.

The videos and recipes are also posted to yum-o.org about one to two days after each class.

We have a few other yummy recipes to share starting again next Sunday! Tomorrow he has chicken parmesan on the line up – something I’ve never made before so I’m doubly excited!

  1. Whit,
Your BBQ chicken pizza looks amazing and I am sure it was equally as delicious! This virtual cooking camp looks like such fun and you have a great sous chef as well. We really enjoyed the Kids Bake off show last year on the Food Network and were amazed at these young cooks. Looks like you have that same cooking/baking talent so keep up the good work. I know your family enjoyed eating that awesome looking fudge!
